now.. don't get so harsh on yourself..jesus christ is a great

sprititual teacher.. and i can totally see how he has enlightened the

western world... but the problem with christianity/islam/ judaism

(sorry.. i don;t mean to isolate anyone here but iam just trying to

prove a point) is not their opposition towards "idoltary" but it runs

deeper than that.. these three religions refuse to accept that God

can come in different forms.. and in doing so, they have

successfully "limited" God in their own minds.. Just compare Quran

and Bible's proclaimation that there's no God other than me to that

of the Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna said, "All worship and

adoration ultimately comes back to me." and lao Tzu in Tao Te

Ching, "Whatever that can be defined, named and categorized is not

TAO." -he is trying to say that the moment a lable, name is put on

God, god will become limited.. what i am trying to say is that

someone to believe that God is omnipotent and there's nothing outside

of God, then satan/devil is also inclusive, Right? Eastern or should

i say, Chinese and Indian philosophies never see a separation of the

two.. ok.. this is getting out of topic .. sorry ...

 

back to your last question,that if it is necessary to worship other

Gods.. the decision is ultimate yours.. In hinduism there's something

called the "ishta devam" a result of the bakhti movement.. in which

the devotee "concentrates" on one deity without negating the others.

You can choose Lord Ganapati to be your ishta devam, but it doesn't

mean that other deities are ignored .. it's all up to you.. i hope
