Its initial sound "aa" vibrates within the Muladhara chakra (base of spine) where Ganesha sits.

According to the Upanishads, Aum stands for the whole world and its parts,

including past, present & future. Its 3 letters represent "the 3 worlds" + the

powers of creation, preservation & destruction.

In common usage in several Indian languages, "aum" means "yes, verily" or

"hail". Jillian's house wrote:

Since Ganesha embodies AUM, you owe it to yourself and the divinity, if you're

to be more than one of his casual friends, to do a little homework.

Go to "goggle.com". It's a fine search engine. Type "AUM" in the box, then do

a little net surfing. Go back, type "OM". Do a little more surfing. Study

up. Then hit us with a zillion questions if you like but...study up.

No one can do this for you. No guru. No nobody. Besides your learning a thing

or two, your Self/Soul will be pleased as punch, for you will have made one of

the most precious offerings there is: your own life energy doing karma yoga.

And you'll have given yourself an extraordinary gift:

AUM!

Scott

(BTW, YOU are AUM.)
