Guest guest
Namaste All, Greetings and Welcome to Lillth and Rick, Jennifer I did prepare and serve your Pongal recipes for dinner last night and the results were well recived by my friends,I am now encouraged to prepare them again as a offering at my local temple's Pongal Festival on Jan 13th. You also asked if I knew the meaning of my name Lambodara it means large or pendulent belly,Lambodara is the 5th avatar of Sri Ganesha and this avatar defeated the demon Krodhasura / Anger, Das means servant/slave I was given this name when I became hindu this is the only name I use. I would very much like to aquire a few Sri Ganesha Prayer/Mantra shawls large ones. does anyone know were or how I might obtain this item? I often see Shiva,Krsna or OM shawls but am unable to locate ones of Sri Ganesha. Thanks to everyone for sharing your love of Sri Ganesha with me I find myself uplifted and inspired by your association. Peace and Love All Around...Jai Sri Bala Ganapathi! Guest guest
Lambodara I am happy to hear that everyone like the recipies. But one thing with Indian recipies is that each person will make it differently, even if the recipe is the same, so I comment to you on a job well done:) Let us know how it goes for pongal offering in your temple That is interesting about the meaning of your name. I was guessing it was Tibetian! But still some Tibetians are Hindu.. Anyhow most people don't know the meaning of their names, I am always fascinated to find out these things. The most interesting was my friend Pradhyumnan, When I asked him what that meant, he said it was the god of love, like CUPID. In that case he should no problem attracting girls You said you got your name when you became a Hindu? I don't understand, were you born of another religion. How did you 'become' a Hindu? Hope you don't mind to share, but I warn you the board is fully public so if you don't want to share, I fully understand. I don't know about those shawls. I haven't seen one I don't think, so sorry I can't help with that. I found one more site, kinda interesting. Pongal (Sankanthi) cards, this one is funny, I mean odd but neat. It is a virtual puja but when you first open the window it is playing a christmas song, then when you start to play the card music (suprabatham) you have to press stop on the broswer to hear suprabatham. I found it so interesting. Some of those sankanthi cards had houses covered with snow, I guess to accomidate to Indians in US ..
