Since before going to India I wanted to write a book about my experiences there. I feel I will write more than one book, but the first issue is what will my first book be on? << Just some suggestions: Firstly, get out a notepad and jot down some details about your very first experience in India. The sights, sounds, people, ashrams, your studies, the culture, religious practices, etc. etc. Make a list, not a diary entry. Go through the list and see which appeals to you most or which you remember most. Meditate on a few choices. Then select one and start writing a few paragraphs each day, and focus. Connect with the "Lord of Scribes" - another suggestion. The mantras will permeate you and something will come out of your subconscious in making a choice about what to write. May take a few days but its worth a try. How about jewellery of South India (any sacred ornaments, etc.).... The different types of puja for example, etc. Just some ideas. What each type of Puja card is for, etc. Well before going to India, I could've have mentioned at least 50 topics I wanted to write on, but now I am so confused about even one. Maybe this is because now India doesn't seem so 'exotic' to me but more like another Home. If anyone out there has any ideas for what you may think OTHERS (a market or target group) may like to read about India (some experiences from my homepage or some suggestions besides) please let me know. You don't need to rush.. think it through and let me know if you come up with anything.Bye for nowJennifer ****** As for "target groups or markets", there is actually a huge market in the U.S. and Europe for Indian articles and books. Surf around publisher sites and read their guidelines. This will give you an indication on what subject matter or topics they prefer. Try "Vedams Books" for example. You'll have to use your search engine for this one as I haven't got the url at hand. Hope the above is of some assistance. Jai Ganesha, Sy Send FREE video emails in Mail. Guest guest
Sy Thanks for your advice. It is very useful. I think that writing a list is a good idea, it is not so overwhelming as starting writing just like that! Jennifer
