"Sree guru Ssiva yeva saha" -- Says Guru Gita. Sadguru is none other than Lord

Parama Shiva Himself.

 

"Naa rudro rudra marchayeth" - say the sastras. One who is not Rudra Himself

cannot worship Lord Shiva. The process of making one equal to Lord Shiva is

known as Mahanyaasa. This is a very elaborate process of inviting and invoking

the Lord Shiva within us.

 

Shivaratri is very special to all of us in connection with the traditional Agni

Puja Sri Swamiji performs in Mysore Ashrama, and for us this Shiva Ratri is even

more special as we are involved in the Shiva Panchakshari chanting. The Japa

Yagna started about three weeks back, is going on very well by the grace of Sri

Guru Deva. All of our chantings will be submitted to the Holy Lotus Feet of

Parama Shiva Swaroopa, Sri Swamiji on this Shivarathri day.

 

In connection with Shiva Ratri celebrations, by the grace of Sri Guru Deva, we

will all perform the Rudra Abhishekam preceded by the Mahanyasam. This is

performed to the Maha Lingam, which is prepared especially for this Puja. The

preparation of the Maha Lingam itself has a very yogic significance and great

inner meaning. This Maha Linga, thus prepared, is worshipped while the Rudra

Prashna, Namaka and Chamaka are chanted by erudite scholars. Let's all

participate in the Mahanyaasa Poorvaka Ekadasha Rudrabhisheka to the Maha Linga

on the 26th Feb 06. Maha Linga Archana is a very comprehensive worship of Lord

Shiva which will take about 4 hours of Puja Rituals. This will intersperse with

our Bhajan Program, Bala Datta Performances, various competitions we are

planning for the kids and other programs.

- The main program will be till 8:00 PM. Devotees who are interested in staying

till midnight are very welcome to stay and participate in the bhajans.

 

- Light Satvic food will be available, given the context of Shivarathri.

If you are coming from East Windsor/Camden area, via 130:

 

1. Take 130 North

2. After Park and Ride, you will get Friendship Road light. NO TURNS here.

3. Immediately after Stults Rd sign, TURN LEFT on to Georges Rd for Dayton..

(If you go past this, you will cross a bridge and see Dayton Toyota. Take a U

turn, and turn RIGHT on to Georges Rd..)

4. On Georges Rd, after the rail tracks, at the first light, make LEFT on to

Ridge Rd. As it is a five road intersection, make sure that you do not turn

left on to Culver Road (there is a Wawa in this intersection).

5. In FIVE seconds, you will see Pioneer Grange No.1 on the right side.

 

If you are coming from Edison area:

 

1. Take US 1 South

2. Take US-130 South towards CAMDEN

3. When you reach South Brunswick / Dayton area, you will see CR 522 (Sunoco is

there in this intersection).

4. DO NOT MAKE any turns here. Go past.

5. You will see Ford and Dayton Toyota right away. Immediately take the right

exit for Ridge Road.

6. At the stop sign turn RIGHT towards Dayton.

7. At the first light (Wawa is in this intersection), make NO turns, and

continue on Ridge road (As it is a five road intersection, make sure that you do

not get on to Culver Road, but continue to stay on Ridge Road)

8. In FIVE seconds, you will see Pioneer Grange No.1 on the right side.

 

IF you are coming from Pennsylvania and Princeton areas, use Route 1 North, see

the directions below:

 

1. Take Route 1 North.

2. When you reach South Brunswick area, GO PAST Ridge Road (Dow Jones is here).

3. Go past the next light which is Raymond Rd.

4. Next light is CR 522, Turn LEFT on to CR-522.

5. CR 522 becomes Ridge Road

6. On your left, you will see Senior Citizen Center, Municipal Bldg Complex,

Police Station etc.

7. At the next immediate light, TURN RIGHT to continue on Ridge Road. Within a

minute, you will see Pioneer Grange No.1 on the left side.

8. If you miss the above RIGHT turn, at the next light, turn RIGHT on to

Georges Rd. At the first light (Wawa is in this intersection), TURN RIGHT on to

Ridge Road. Pioneer Grange No.1 is within five seconds on the right side.

 

If you are coming from NJ Turnpike (South or North):

 

1.. Take exit 8A.

2.. After paying toll, bear right and take 32 West towards Cranbury.

3.. Cross the immediate first light.

4.. Stay in the right lane.

5.. Within a minute, merge on to US 130 north.

6.. Immediately get into left lane.

7.. In couple of seconds you will see Stults Road.sign. Immediately after this

sign, TURN LEFT on to Georges Rd. If you go past this, you will cross a bridge

and see Dayton Toyota. Take a U turn, and turn RIGHT on to Georges Rd.)

8.. On Georges Rd, after the rail tracks, at the first light, make LEFT on to
