By the grace of His Holiness Sri Guru Deva, there has been a very good

response to the Siva Panchakshari Mantra Japa yagnam. It is a pleasure

to see so many devotees taking this as a wonderful opportunity to chant

the sacred name of Siva in these days preceding to Sivarathri (Feb 26,

2006).

The names of all the participants in the Japa Yagna, with their counts,

will be submitted to the Holy Lotus Feet of Sri Guru Deva, at the end

of this yagna. Also, the FIRST and SECOND devotees with the maximum

chanting count will be blessed with special prasadam from His Holiness,

Sri Swamiji.

Some points to note:

1. When you report the count, please give the NUMBER count. Not how

many malas you did, because we do not have how many bead there are in

your mala. Also, not how many minutes, because we do not know what

your pace/speed is.

2. When you report the count, please give your first and last names.

Also, please give your individual counts, not family counts.

3. All the counts you reported through email, or telephone have all been

noted. Please accept our apologies that we are not able to reply back

to your emails, due to the immense response. For any reason, if you

explicitly ask us to reply to you, we will definitely do so.

Otherwise, please be assured that your count is noted.

4. Some of you had questions on how to count, since the counting process

interrupts the concentration. Couple of suggestions are: a. You can

use a japamala (with known number of beads), and keep the count of how

many malas you do in a sitting. You can then translate that into the

count. OR b. You can figure out your pace of chanting (how many times

you are able to do, say, per minute). Once you know the pace/speed,

every time you sit for chanting, just note the start and end times,

figure out the duration, and translate that into the count using your

pace/speed. Of course, any other ways, that are suited better for you,

you are advised to follow. The above are just a few suggestions, for

some of the queries that we received.

Please take a moment and report your weekly count to JapaYagna

every Thursday. Yesterday being a Thursday, those of you who did not

inform yesterday, please let us know today, or as soon as you can. If

you are unable to send the email, please call 732-274-9226 and report

the count.

May Sri Guru Datta bless one and all with peace, prosperity and

happiness!
