By the grace of His Holiness Sri Swamiji, Datta Yoga Center, New Jersey will be

performing Anaghashami Vratam, on the Pradhaana Anaghastami Day of this year

(Dec 24th). Those of you who can (physically) come and participate, please join

us in this sacred Vratam of Sri Anagha Devi and Sri Anagha Swami. Those of you

who can not attend, but would like to sponsor the puja on your name, please let

us know your intention and details as requested below:

 

Please read below on the importance and significance of Anagha Vratam, and the

program details.

 

Agha means sin. That is of three types - this is a worship that can get us rid

of all the three types of sins and that is why this is called Anaghashtami

Vratam.

 

Lord Dattatreya is worshipped in a very graceful familiar avatara, also in

addition to the famously known ascetic forms. This very form is that of Anagha

Swami, where His consort is called Anagha Devi - She who can make all of us

cross this ocean of bondages and Karma. The eight Siddhis (that anyone can

attain) are worshipped in this method as the effective children of the Lord

Anagha and Goddess Anagha Devi. This in a way shows our interest in spiritual

saadhana to attain the siddhis and thereby reach salvation (or Mukti) to reach

the abode of the Lord Dattatreya - which is the absolute bliss.

 

This Pooja is regularly performed on every Bahula Ashtami (the 8th day after

every full moon day) and has Margashira Bahula Ashtami as the chief day for

worship. It is our good fortune that this year the Marga Shira Bahula Ashtami,

for this celebration is going to be on a weekend. What else are we waiting for

other than a perfect weekend with very impactful spiritual vibrations in the

form of a Saamoohika Anagha Vratam coupled with energizing Bhajans and other

related activities?

 

All of us are aware of the merits of Satsanga and the virtues of group

performance of worship and Naama Sankeertana. We just want to leverage these for

the benefit of all of our friends and family in the form of an active

participation in this pooja scheduled for 24th Dec 2005. In addition to those

already known to us, you may want to invite all your friends who are interested

in performing and participating in this Pooja.

 

For the benefit of the entire mankind and to share the virtues of group

participation, let us perform the puja together and all of us, with unstinted

devotion and sincerity. Please join this Maha Yagna by participating and
