The day just after Datta Jayanti (16.12.05) Sri Swamiji will go to Mekedatu,

His birthplace, where various new temples and buildings in the Ashram will

be inaugurated.

 

This is certainly the most important event since the inauguration of His

Guru Nilayam 7 ½ years ago!

 

For this event many devotees from India and abroad will be expected there.

The transportation to Mekedatu will probably be with buses, the

accommodation for foreign devotees there perhaps in a large tent.

 

Those who wish to join this trip to Mekedatu should bring a (light) sleeping

bag – or similar beddings - with them since it will be the coldest time of

the year. And it is not expected that the devotees take Ashram beddings with

them – this would be also too bulky!

 

Handicapped devotees or those who suffer from treatment deserving diseases

should really think twice to attempt this trip since the condition in

Mekedatu will be very basic, and the next medical treatment possiblility is

far away (also no telephones are there and mobile phones are not working!).

 

Whether Sri Swamiji will stay 2 or 3 nights there will be decided in

Mekedatu itself.
