With humble prostrations to the Lotus Feet of Sadguru Deva Parama Pujya Sri

Sri Swamiji, I have this humble translation of the recent navaraatri bhajan

composed by H. H. Swamiji.

 

This is only a sincere effort with my limited knowledge.

May Sadguru bless me and correct me if there are any mistakes.

 

For the benefit of all devotees.

KAAMESWARIM BHAAVAYAAMI

======================

[i am invoking an praying to godess Kaameswari/Paarvati]

BHAAVAYAAMI = I am invoking

Kaameswarim = godess Paarvati Devi.

Bhaavayaami = I am invoking

Siva Kaameswarim = godess Siva Kaameswari

[i am invoking that godess Kaameswari who:]

Saha Bhaagini = shares the

Ardhaanga = Ardha+ Anga = Half portion of the body(of)

Sri Sankara = Lord Sankara

 

---she who is sharing the half portion of the body of Lord Sankara

 

 

 

(she who is)

bhoginim = enjoying/(viz. qualified for)

(sitting)

utsanga tala = = on the lap of /(having association of)

Sri Sankara = Lord Sankara

 

---she who is sitting on the lap of Lord Sankara (vi. who is in association of

Lord Sankara/who is qualified to sit on the

lap of Lord sankara)

 

 

 

(she who is)

Sri Sankara = Lord Sankara's

Aananda = blissful

Naatye = (divine cosmic) dance

Sakheem = woman friend

---she who is a divine partner/friendly participant of the blissful (cosmic)

dance [Taandava] of Lord Siva

 

(she who is)

Abheda = no different from

Sri Sankara = Lord Sankara's

tattva = philosophy [viz. no different from Lord Sankara himself!]

(and who is)

un+mukeem = focussed/turned towards it(Sankara tattva).

---she who is no different from Lord Sankara's philosophy/avataara and who is

focussed towards that philosophy.

Kaala+analaam = fierce fire

naasa = that destroys

aavali = the group of

Kaama = materialistic desires

---she who is fierce fire that destroys the group of materialistic desires

(she who demonstrated)

leela = the divine leela

kalaam = art

(of)

Kaama su sanjeeva /kaamasu sanjeeva = gaving rebirth to Manmadha

(she who has the)

udyat = upsurging

balaam = power/energy

(that is capable of )

sammohana = mesmerizing

Kaama+ari = foe of Manmadha = Lord Siva (who annihilated Manmadha by burning him

to ashes with fire from His third eye!)

 

---she who has the upsurging energy that is capable of memerizing even Lord Siva

(who conquered Manmadha!)

 

 

(she who has the)

ujjvalaam = glorified/glittering(viz. great/well known/famous)

Divya = divine

naama = name

(called)

Kaamaakshika = Kaamaakshika (the actual name called Kaamaakshika! )

 

 

---she who has the glorified/famous divine name called Kaamakshi.

aasrayaam = the pivot of

(such)

Kaama = (divine, non-materialistic) want

(which is)

ateeta = beyond

Sarva = all

Indriya = sense organs

---she who is the pivot of divine, non-materialistic want which is beyond all

sense organ generated desires.

 

 

 

(she who is an embodiment of)

nirvaira = enemy less

niseema = boundless

moda = bliss

advayaam = (that is) not dual in nature (i.e. single entity that pervades the

entire universe)

---she who is an embodiment of qualities like 'enemy-less-ness' and boundless

bliss that is not dual in nature viz. that is

FULL BLISS.

Bhakta = devotee's

aapta = very close friend (who comes to the rescue in times of need)

(and who is always)

saha kaama(from audio) /sama kaama(from script) = tuned in mental plane (of the

devotee)

(and who always)

saha bhogakaam = shares / takes part (in good and bad of the devotee!!)

 

---she who is devotee's very close friend and who is always tuned in the mental

plane of the devotee and who always shares

the good an bad of the devotee.

 

 

 

(she who is)

nija = truely

bhoomikaam = the basis of/ embodiment of

Sri Sat_chit_aananda = eternal truth and bliss.

 

---she who is truely the basis of eternal truth and bliss.
