Dear Devotees,

 

We are happy to inform you that with the blessings and Sankalpam of our

Sadguru and Mata Jaya Lakshmi we have exceeded way beyond our targeted goal of

minimum of nine lakhs of chantings of Lalitha Sahasranamam. We will inform the

final count after Vijayadashami.

 

We earnestly pray His Holiness to Grace all the Datta devotees and other

participants with the opportunity to continue similar efforts of Nama Smarana,

Japas, pujas, and related spiritual activities.

 

According to the advice given by our priest, Sharma Garu, Tarpana or final

offering of our chantings will culminate our efforts of Lalitha Yagnam. To

assist us in doing this Tarpana, the priest is planning to perform Dashaakshari,

Panchaakshari, Saha Lalitha Homa on the most auspicious day, Vijayadashami, in

the Temple. Names of the participants, their respective Gotra and Nakshatra

will be placed at the Lotus Feet of our Sadguru. The same list will be sent to

Mysore also to seek Swamiji’s blessings along with a separate list of

sponsors of Prasadam.

 

Devotees who have not yet sent the following information:

1) Name

2) Gotra

3) Nakshatra

(if you do not know your gotra and/or Nakshatra, Swamiji’s Gotra and

Nakshatra will be mentioned)

4) Sponsored the Prasadam or not.

 

You are requested to do so by Tuesday, October 4, 2005, directly to:

The final list will be forwarded to Sharma Garu before Vijayadashami day.

Since Shastri Garu is planning to visit India, last minute additions will be

difficult to make. Those who have already sent this information to us need not

send again. If you have sent information directly to Baton Rouge, please send

the same information to us also. We need some time to compile a final list

and forward it to the priest in Baton Rouge.

 

Note: Organizers of Lalitha Yagnam at each Satsang Center are requested to

inform the participants and make sure they send their details of Gotra,

Nakshatra, and whether they sponsored $18.00 for prasadam to us by Tuesday,

October

4, 2005. Consider this as urgent. If you are late in sending the information,

the priest may not get your name included in the list.

 

Updated Counts: Chantings will continue till Vijayadashami day. Please

inform me updated counts soon after Vijayadashami so that I can forward the

information to Mysore and Seek Swamiji’s blessings to all.

 

Those who have been doing Kum Kum Archana are requested by Sharma Garu to

mail it to him directly to Baton Rouge: Datta Temple and Hall of Trinity, 6221

Equity Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70809; by Tuesday, October 4, 2005, so that he can

offer to Lalita Paradevata during his offering.

 

Following is the procedure to be performed on Vijayadashami day to culminate

your chantings of Lalita Sahasranamam.

1. Achamaniyam (Sip water three times as you chant: Om Keshavaya Swaha, Om

to have the good effect of this chanting.

Culmination Procedure: Take about ¼ teaspoon rice mixed with a pince of

turmeric in your right hand and pour about 1 teaspoon of water on it and leave

it

in plate where you have puja set up or in front of Devi’s picture.
