Guest guest
The Feet of Guru SatGuru is the Self. The feet of SatGuru represents the knowable aspect of Guru, while the remainder is the formless aspect of Guru, the true Self. By focusing one's awareness/attention on the feet (an analogy), one automatically intuits the Guru himself as the Saakshi of the intellect. This is the last step in the process of "neti neti" leading to full knowledge of that inmost knower, the Self. The process of shifting attention should be distinguished from inference. The attention when focused on the feet of that SatGuru, becomes instantly aware of itself. It is said, continued attention on this, leads to That. To understand what is known, one must understand perception itself. Drik-Drishya-Viveka leads one to knowledge of the visible, and intuition of the formless aspect of the Self. The world is the known, and is thus identical with consciousness. The Self is its container. Correct perception is known by the inability to distinguish the inner from outer. Incorrect perception leads to body consciousness and the incorrect belief that "I am the body." Correct perception leads to the conclusion Aham Brahmasmi (Self is Brahman) and Tat Tvam Asi (That Thou Art). Guru madhye stitham vishvam Vishva madhye stitho Guru "Within Guru, the universe is situated. Within the Universe, the Guru is situated." Correct perception through drik-drishya-viveka leads to full understanding of the above statement.
