True worship is "dharana" -- akin to the flow of oil towards the wick of a lamp.

Dharana is the process of mind in which one continually thinks of in all waking,

sleep, and other states of mind. To live in fear, is to think continually of

fear, and thus to worship fear. To live in grace, is to think only of grace, and

to worship grace. To be a good devotee, you only need to have "real" interest,

that interest itself will lead to dharana, and that dharana itself is true

worship. True worship leads to true results in one's sadhana. SatGuru's grace

is continuous, impartial, and ever-present. To attain it, one must be a good

receiver. Nothing else is required. Surrender all to that ever-present Shiva,

and all will be attainable. Those who say "it is not possible for ME in this

lifetime, that is too great an achievement" ... remember, you are saying nothing

different than "I don't have faith that my SatGuru can lead me to the goal".

Half and half efforts only lead to half and half knowledge; and no knowledge is

better than half-and-half knowledge. But what is no knowledge? It is a state of

not knowing, which again, leads only to the self. So long as you know

"something" you will not see the "Self" because that "something" always covers

the "Self".

Jai Guru Datta.
