Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, I went to a concert by Liz Callaway, who has starred in a variety of Broadway shows. I had a special fondness for her because a roommate of mine had worked on her breakout show-which I got to see in a workshop version and on Broadway. In the middle of her show, she sang this beautiful song by Frank Loesser, who wrote the songs for Guys & Dolls, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. This song came from his operetta, The Most Happy Fella. I hope one day that my devotion to Swamiji will reach the level of devotion in these lyrics. Here they are: My heart is so full of You so full of You There is no room for anything more there My heart is so full of You so full of you There is no room for anything more What other wish can I wish What other plan can I plan What other dream can I dream And what for, whatever for when my heart is so full of You so full of You There is no room no room in my heart for anything more If you'd like to hear the song, Ms. Callaway's albums are available on Amazon.com. It's on two of her CDs- <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000084U4C/qid=1112867518/sr= 8-3/ref=pd_csp_3/102-6844364-3884130?v=glance&s=music&n=507846> Anywhere I Wander - Liz Callaway Sings Frank Loesser and her album of duets with her sister, Anne Callaway Hampton, called Sibling Revelry. Guest guest
JGD, Mahesh! Good to hear from you! I love your song and fondly remember singing together with you and Padma, and John and Josh...."I Will Follow Him.." for Swamiji's 50th birthday! I bet other devotees have songs as well that make them think of Sri Swamiji. Here's my personal favorite right now that always makes me think of our beloved Guru: YOU RAISE ME UP You Raise Me Up Lyrics by Brendan Graham Music by Rolf Lovland sung by Josh Groban When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary When troubles come and my heart burdened be Then, I am still and wait here in the silence, Until you come and sit awhile with me. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas I am strong, when I am on your shoulders You raise me up... to more than I can be. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas I am strong, when I am on your shoulders You raise me up... to more than I can be. You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas And I am strong, when I am on your shoulders You raise me up... to more than I can be. You raise me up... to more than I can be. - Mahesh Grossman JAIGURUDATTA Thursday, April 07, 2005 7:48 AM Showtune bhajan Jaya Guru Datta, I went to a concert by Liz Callaway, who has starred in a variety of Broadway shows.
