Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, had a look at the recommended website and saw that there are also Tantric subjects being discussed. As for Tantra, as far as I know Sri Swamiji does back the opinion of late Subaraya Sharma, whose booklet has been published by Datta Peetham and is available at dattapeethamestore.com: sorry for any additional signs or spaced due to my old aol version! p.34 ff of Sri Kundalini Sakthi - Serpent Power, as per Vedic Text and not Tantric by late Y. Subbaraya Sharma, Prasad´s (Sri Swamiji s Secretary s) grand grandfather as far as I know. SGS Avadhoota Datta Peetham, 2nd edition 1994: (this book is dedicated to Sri Jayalakshmi Matha) Srividyopasana Praying, worshipping, Mantra Japa (repeating Manthra) of Supreme Parasakthi and realising Her is called Srividyopasana. This Upasana is classified into two branches, (1) Vaidika [Vedic] and (2) Thanthrika [Tantric]. This Supreme Parasakthi manifests herself as three Gunas - Sathva, Rajas and Thamas - for creation, existence and dissolution of the Universe. Those who worship Sri Devi in her manifestation of Thamoguna and Rajoguna as laid down in Thantrika texts are called Thantrikas. ....Some interpret that merely worshipping of Sri Chakra is Srividyopasana. This is not correct... Worshipping of images, Manthra Japa of Gayathri etc, are also Srividyopasana. Practice of Yoga with gnyana for the realisation of Supreme Parasakthi is called Samayachara Srividyopasana. This practice commences from the rousing of Sri Kundalini Sakthi as quoted by Sri Vyasamaharishi in Lalitopakhyana in Brhmanda Purana. Sri Shankaracharya confirms this as Samayachara in Soundaryalahari. Rousing of Sri Kundalini Sakthi and meditation as detailed in chapters 6 and 7 of the present work...is the Samayachara Sri Vidyopasana. This may be compared with the following texts of Lalitasahasranama stothra in Brahmanda Purana by Sri Vyasa Maharshi.... The Rajayoga comprising Gnyana and Yoga explained in the beginning of this chapter and Samayachara Srividyopasana are one and the same.... Parasakthi evolutes first from Parabrahma and is called Iswari Sakthi. The Supreme Chith then reflects in Iswari Sakthi and the reflected Chaithanya is called Iswara. Iswari is Mother and Iswara is father for the whole Universe. Mother Power came first and then came the father power from the Supreme Being. This is confirmed in the Thathireeya Upanishad... Matha Poorva rupam Pithothara rupam. The reference should be given first to Mother and then to father as per the authority of the same Upanishath. ....[maybe this is why it starts Sri Ganapathyai namaha Sri Saraswatyai namaha... and also as for Bhajans one should start with Ganapathi, then Mother Goddess bhajans and then only others...? question of Veena] Mathrudevo Bhava Pithrudevo Bhava; Mathrubhyo namaha Pithrubhyo namaha. It is therefore that Maharshis have ordained that preference should be given to Sri Vidyopasana which is the worship of Mother Power and that is why Sri Gayathri upasana, which is undoubtedly Sri Vidyopasana has been made compulsory by Maharshis for all the "Dwija" Where there is Sakthi, there is reflection [Chaitanya], where there is reflection, there is Sakthi. They are inseparable. The manthra of Uttishta Devi in Sandyavandanam pertaining to Sri Kundalini ... There is interconnection between Gayathri and Sri Kundalini. The following Yoga-Kundalini Upanishadic authority confirms the same. ...in Sanskrit letters... Meaning: The Omakara emanating from Sri Kundalini Shakthi which is Gayathri, is itself prana. To realise Paramatma in combination of Gayathri and Kundalini is the Maha Vidya (highest knowledge. He who experiences this in practice of Gayathri Sri Vidyopasana is the real Gnyani. ... Meaning: O Divine Mother, Lord Iswara after creating the Universe brought out sixty four Thanthras of mystical powers of the nature of Rajas and Thamas which are only subordinate powers and which give only momentary worldly benefits completely blocking the true knowledge of the self luminous spiritual reality. Seeing that the people would be doomed in this ignorance without self illumination, you, kind hearted Devi, prayed Lord Iswara who then brought out into the world this Masterly power Veda Vidya which belongs to Suddha Sathwaguna [pure Sattva Guna] for the benefit of humanity. As clearly revealed in the above stanza of Sri Soundaryalahari ....Thanthrika method of worship should be completely avoided. Even mixed path of worship of Vaidika and Thanthrika[mixture of Vedic and Tantric practices] should under no circumstances be followed as per the following mandate of Lord Iswara...
