Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta Dear Datta devotees, With Sri Swamiji's blessings, The Datta Temple in Baton Rouge is getting ready to celebrate for the first time, "Priests Appreciation Day" on Sunday, November 28, 2004 at Sri Jayalakshmi Mata Bhavan. There will be felicitations, entertainment, and lunch. We invite and encourage all of you to generously participate. As many of you are aware, our priests here, Sri Sankaramanchi Sarma, and Sri Sreenivasa Sastry extend their services well beyond their call of duty. They not only serve as priests at the altar, but also conduct numerous special pujas, rituals, and homas sponsored by the temple, and also at the request of the people in the community. They support several other activities at the temple. Our priests serve the community nation-wide by traveling extensively to perform marriages, and rituals in homes and temples. They eagerly suggest and support religious activities to ward off difficulties, and to ensure peace, on an individual, family, and community basis, patiently explaining the procedures, and their meanings to those who are new to this culture The Priests Appreciation Day gives us all a chance to say, "Thank You". Those who would like to send in their expressions of appreciation via e-mail, or US mail, please send them to me by noon Saturday, so that they can be nicely put together and presented to the priests at the function. If you have any suggestions or questions, please call 225-677-8140 or 225-773-0746 Thank you for your participation. Sincerely, Suri Duvvuri Sri Guru Datta
