Guest guest
Jai Guru Datta! Please pass this on to all kids who attended Spiritual Camp at Datta Retreat Center in July. Reference: Sri Guru Samhita (English), published by Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore, India. Sri Guru Datta! Sirish Poondla --\ ------------- Meaning of Ashta Lakshmi Stuti I bow to Gajalakshmidevi who is seated in a chariot having horses in the front bestows knowledge through the trumpeting of the elephants and is the conferer of an empire. Fire is wealth, air is wealth. In fact, all the five elements are wealth. I bow to Dhanalakshmidevi who is bestower of immense wealth. I bow to Dhanyalakshmidevi who is resplendent in the form of various grains sprouting from earth’s womb, and shines in the form of cattle wealth. I bow to Dhairyalakshmidevi whose modest devotees are free from envy, anger and fear and whose intellect is free from differences. I bow to Santanalakshmidevi who herself assumes the form of sons, daughters and grand children and cattlewealth to the devotee. I bow to Vidyalakshmidevi who bestows special knowledge of objects, purifies the intellect and confers liberation. I bow to Adilakshmidevi and Varalakshmidevi who are ever gracious and who confer eternal auspiciousness and excellent wealth, and bestow good mind. I bow to Vijayalakshmidevi who is of the form of all powers and bestower of all supernatural faculties and victories and is internal controller. The integrated form of (above devis known as) Ashtalakshmi is consort of Vishnu. She herself is bestower of liberation, and represents and controls all types of wealth. I bow and pray to her. By chanting the Ashtalakshmi Stuti, poverty and suffering will be dispelled, abundant wealth will be obtained and Saccidananda – the state of perfect bliss will be attained. <End of Message>
