Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, i would like to take the opportunity to share with you my view of the essence of the speech of Sri Swamiji at the satsanga evening in Holland (12-08-2004). Sri Swamiji said (quotes) form the speech: Praying is worship, but work is also worship(karma yoga). Helping the needy is worship. We should not fight, we should focus on happiness, happiness should become more. We should not be asking questions questions questions questions questions questions... discussions discussions discussions discussions... we should just Chant the name of God and remember GOD that way, ...then we will get definately good answers. We should be happy with our lives. We should not want to much. We should not be jealous on other people. And we should not be jealous on anyone. We should be happy with our lives because we want this life. It is our karma. We do karma every birth. So the life you got now is the results of your own desire. We create our own lives through subsequent births. So we should be HAPPY with our lives. What you do now creates your future, so do good things think good things. You get what you wish ..so wish good things and then you will get definately good things. We should not be angry all the time, it is a waste we live 80 years, 90 years .... maybe 98 years ...99 years, 100 years. Then you go to another birth another house ... other family,.. so dont be matrealistic. What you own now you will not own in your next house. So focus on God. Think of God. --- Sri Guru Datta, Sri Swamiji was fun, serious and beautiful. I myself contemplated and concluded a few things [essence of the speech]: that for me it is difficult to be humble, i have a really BIG ego, for me it is normal not to laugh(serious). I think that i am cool and great. if you would work in a elderly home, then you would work and help the needy at the same time, this is an example of how work can be GREAT worship. i should not think to much and worry to much ...but focus more on the great divine aspects. This is logical in theory, but Sri Swamiji made this applicable for me in practice. We do not see our own faults, Sri Swamiji is like a mirror and shows us our faults. We only have to look very carefully. So visiting the centers and Sri Swamiji is very very important. I think that without visiting the satsangas you can not progress in a real rate. Finally, i want to thank mr Ram Sukhai for organising. If anyone has some comments to write: please share. Jaya Guru Datta, Winand.
Guest guest
Jai Gurudatta, Holy Mother of Pondy said once: God gives more htan any person can really take. It is only man who is simply not prepared to recieve god's blessings. Swami Sukabodhananda puts it this way : There are lot of waves like CNN, BBC etc are available everywhere, but everyTV doesnot relay everychannel justlike that unless it is not tuned to that. Similarly god's blessings are always there and it is important that we tune ourselves to recieve that. Chanting of god's name tunes us to synchronise our thoughts with him. Sri Gurudatta. I have been associated with Swamiji for fifteen years now. I want bliss. I want enlightenment. But Swamiji hasn´t given me any of it. I have been following Swamiji for so many years. Swamiji, give me something. There is a devotee...He complained: Every year Swamiji says: Not yet, not yet, not yet. But when will it happen then? Swamiji replied: I don´t know. Just follow. Meditate. Do your work and serve your mother. Again the devotee complained: Why do you keep on giving me this advice? I don´t believe in any other Guru. I only believe in you. Then Swamiji just touched his forehead and said: ok, I give you enlightenment. The devotee left by car, together with his mother. He was driving his car only a mile. During that time he saw many bearded Swamijis. Thousands and thousands of Swamijis. And the car he was driving, too, was Swamijis body. He looked at his mother, and she also looked like Swamiji. A great pressure developed in his head. He returned to Swamiji and said: I don´t want this enlightenment. Such an enlightenment I don´t want. Swamiji gave him water and asked him to sleep. and after one hour he returned to his normal consciousness. Enlightenment is not easy, not easy. You have to be prepared for it. Therefore you are practising all kinds of yoga. Be friendly/gentle. Be generous. Be calm/composed. Be peaceful. Follow the path. Believe. Don´t be confused. Then you will automatically get enlightenment, bliss. A Guru is not needed for this. You will get it automaticallly. When time (for it) has come He (God) will give it to you. We are seeking. We are rather crazy. We want physical proof. That´s not the way enlightenment is. Enlightenment, that blissful power, is very difficult to achieve. Go on practising. Controll yourself. It will come by itself. That s Swamiji s opinion.
