Meditation is a still mind. Yogis strictly don´t even need certain stipulated

times for meditation, as their mind is always still. It is ego that makes

mind restless like a monkey.

As soon as ego is gone, meditation is permanent, this is my opinion.

"The Lord says in the Gita: "Among things profound I am "silence". Observing

silence leads to meditation in depth which will verily give a vision of the

Lord to the devotee." from dattapeetham.com, talks, short sayings.

This silence has to be not only outward, i.e.not to speak, but a total mental

silence that comes from having surrendered one´s ego and thus one´s wishes,

hopes and fears to God/Guru.

In the beginning one tries to first concentrate, e.g. on one´s Guru in the

heart chakra, etc

during stipulated times, e.g Brahma muhurta, Durga muhurta, Sarasvati muhura.

Concentration stills the mind, this leads to meditation. Meditation cannot be

described, only experienced. JGD
