“What did mother say?†Satya asked eagerly.

“Here it is, this lovely childâ€, lovingly he took both

the hands of Satya in his hands, pressed them against

his eyes and kissed them tenderly.

Two teardrops were swinging from his eyes. Satya was

touched very much by his show of affection. For four

years, after the mother’s death, no one had showered

any love on him. There was no one to say, “This is

my childâ€, and no one cared to know if he was alive or

not. Not even in town’s gathering was there anyone

that wanted to know who that lad was. Such an

unfortunate child, having seen and experienced this

caring and affectionate from this stranger, had his

heart flying far away into the sky in ecstasy.

“My son, as it is, you are running away from your

house. Your mother is no more in this world. Your

father said, “Go away if you want to.†Would you not

please show compassion on this life that is suffering

the agony of an orphan?â€

Probably this sweetness of the affection shown is

better than the sweetness experienced in “Kechari

Vidya†thought Satya.

“Lakshmi, Sasraswathi are your sisters. Let us

conduct their wedding in a grand scale,†he said.

It was enough to bring tears in the eyes of Satya.

“The one who has followed the tradition of “The

Motherâ€, “Has achieved Sree Vidyaâ€, “A Sadhuâ€, “Man

with so much of love and affection,†why should I

entertain any more doubts?†was the musical note

coming from Satya’s heart.

The man sent a porter to buy first two class tickets.

The PA system announced the arrival of the train to

Bombay. The train soon made its entrance on to the

platform. Without giving room for any more second

thoughts to enter in the mind of the young lad, the

train took them both and was on its way to Bombay.

On the train, the two of them discussed in detail,

about the “Sree Vidyaâ€. The man soon nodded off to

sleep. The young Satya, learning on to the window

rails, was trying to nod off to sleep. He got up

with a jerk as the train came to a halt. He looked

around to see which town it was. On a yellow stone,

in red letters was written “Guntakalâ€.

He pondered for a minute on its meaning.

“Gunta Kallu?â€

“Oh, pit in a stone.â€

“What is it?â€

Satya’s eyes involuntarily closed for a minute.

“Mother†standing at a distance on a stone. Mother

was staring at him.

Satya opened his eyes again.

“Satya, what about the rules I preached you? What

is it you are doing now?â€

“The businessman’s property will not get wasted.

Your sister’s wedding will be conducted. What about

the vow you took about upholding the “Universal

Welfare?â€

“Ammaâ€, Satya wanted to shout out loudly. Somehow,

he managed to control the urge to scream out loudly.

He looked around.

The platform was falling behind due to the movement of

the train. There was no time left to waste. He

quickly got up with a jerk and with another jerk

jumped out of the moving train on to the platform.

Running for about 10 feet along with the train, he

came to a halt. He had reached the end of the

platform.

“You saved me, mother, Excuse me please. I will not

commit such mistakes again.†Despite having

experienced the “Eternal Divine Loveâ€, “I fell for

this petty affection of a person. I will not fall

for it again. Excuse me,†saying so, he fell flat

and bowed down to his mother.

With the little money he had in his pocket, he bought

a ticket to Anantapur. On the return journey, his

thoughts went as follows.

“Men are not eternal. It means the love shown by

them cannot be eternal. If their love is transitory,

their hatred also has to be transitory. Therefore

the insults thrown by them also have to be transitory.

Even the honours bestowed also have to be

transitory. If so, giving values to honours and

disgraces by such men and getting into a state of

turmoil, how mean and petty one has to be? Hatred

and love are the two sides of the same coin. Losing

to either of them is to be considered as a failure

only. I wanted to win over hatred but never for a

moment thought that I should win over love and

affection. Let me try it now.â€

“For a new sadhana, a new place, I suppose to

facilitate the change of place; mother is making me

experience new events in my life. Let it happen,â€

Satya took a solid, resolute decision.
