Guest guest
Hopefully a cd or album covering this concert will be released! JGD A complete Cross-cultural Cosmic Conscious Musical Odyssey concludes the 2003 Nada Prasara USA Tour. (Chicago Concert Saturday 22nd August, Lamont Hindu Temple Such music I have never heard before. It was out of this world. I wished it would never end!†Said a radiant member of the audience, after a hour three musical tour de force. There was standing room only at the Lemont Temple Hall. Saturday evening at the final USA portion of the tour, Sri Swamiji once again made His musical fingers available to the Gods. To our great delight we were soon whisked away on a cross cultural, cross species, global and planetary voyage. If and when the music for the Chicago concert is released, here is a clumsy attempt to describe what was experienced during this Healing and Meditation magnum opus. We began slowly sailing down the Yangtze River in a Sampan soothed by a gentle rain cleaning the air. This was an appropriate beginning since China is one of the ancient civilizations of this present age. Next we danced to bamboo wind chimes on a cliff top, overlooking an orange sun dipping behind the ocean in Bali. Bali is an enclave of Hindu spirituality amidst the world’s largest Moslem population. Soon the beat changed and the tom-tom drums of Africa could be clearly heard as woman swung their way down the track with large bundles on their heads. In another quick note change the tolling of Big Ben transported us to the river Thames in London. Then by contrast we heard hundreds of distant cowbells jangle through the cool, magnificent, Swiss Alps. You could almost feel the cool crisp air and caress the lush green grass beneath your feet. The tour moved on to the warmth of the Greek Islands with an unmistakable Zorba flavor dancing its way through the melody. At a later passage a distinct Cossack dance tune could be discerned with its strength and vibrancy. >From ancient and modern global cultures we transited to nature through sharing the bond between man and pony. We became one with native American Indians as they leisurely cantered their steeds across the prairies. The hoofs beat a cadence on mother earth. From North America we went south to hear exotic birds chirping high in the treetops of the Amazon rain forest. In a harmonious flash we were in fields of flowers where bees hummed and buzzed as they gathered nectar and pollen from the blossoms. We heard elephants trumpeting, we swam with whales and soared with eagles. We visited the musical chambers where great composers created their works of pure genius. We went from impressive spiritual cathedrals to ancient monasteries and temples. The rhapsody gave us a sampling of it all. Once the cross cultural and cross species tour concluded we ventured further a field. It was reminiscent of the movie: “Close Encounters of a Third kind†where people on earth communicate with planet beings through music. The catchy tune had those same intergalactic qualities. Almost immediately we were transported beyond Earth’s gravity to glide serenely through outer and inner space. Each time one thought that the pinnacle had been reached, Sri Swamiji cranked it up another notch to an even higher level. One such moment was when Sri Swamiji led the chant of “AUM†that intertwined with the musical notes; the hall reverberated with a resounding flow of chanting the primordial sound. We were no longer simply along for the joyride, we were the journey, and we were an intricate piece of the phenomenon at a deep, personal, auditory and vocal dimension. To say it was a magical event is simply a gross understatement. At the grand finale the opus built to a fast paced, powerful crescendo. All worlds internal, external, humanity, nature, earth, galaxies, physical and spiritual merged and came together as One. The energy in this dramatic finale came like heavy surf, in cascading waves of ecstatic energy flowing through the spine. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to have such an auditory adventure. How could this be accomplished so naturally using music as the medium? We did not have to endure: long tiring flights, there was no security screening, no packing, no baggage. Just pure unadulterated pleasure where each participant returned radiant and refreshed. We had been pampered, rejuvenated and enlightened by the ethereal music Maestro. What an awesome experience! In all honesty the music experience by this great Adept defies all description. My only wish is that one day you too will be taken on such a magnificent melodious passage. You will return radiant, energized and healed deep down in your soul. Even the most luxurious and exotic Spa could not duplicate such results.
