Guest guest
Pradyumna has given me the following explanation, which i would like to share: "...Dharma and adharma were never said to be "imaginary" by any means -- those who "oppose" dharma are certainly creating difficulties for themsevles -- one who is in consonance with that inherent reality cannot be opposed to dharma; indeed, it is they who define dharma. To worry about being a sinner and not sinning -- is selfish -- you are protecting yourself, and creating another pocket of security. Only he who cares not for himself, can ever be free and such a person naturally acts dharmically -- not forced, as I explained earlier! ..." jai guru datta > Thema: Very nice quote(SGS) on Dharma and Adharma > Datum:27.02.2003 22:50:38 Westeuropäische Normalzeit > Von:dhiyoyonahprachodayat</A\ > > An:jaigurudatta > Internet-eMail: > > > > > Jgd, if one reads the beneath quotations one can conclude that for us(not > self-realized ones and big-ego ones) smoking is against our Sanatan dharma. > Very simple ..one can make ones life more sublime by observing good > health[2]. Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Dear Karen, It is verse 5 of the procedure for meditating upon the Guru in Sri Guru Gita. (dattapeetham publication) Sri Guru Datta, Win .. .. Praatah shirasi shuklaabje dwinetram dwibhujam Gurum / Varaabhayakaraam shaamtam smaaret tannaama poorvakam / Prasanna vadanaambhojam sarvadeva swaroopinam / Tat paadodaka jaam dhaaraam nipatamteem swamoordahani / Tayaa samkshaalayet baahyamamamtaram daihikam malam / Tatkshanaat vrajo martyo jayate sphatikopamah // Everyday in the morning soon after one wakes up, one should imagine a white thousand-petalled lotus on top of his head and meditate upon it. Your Guru should be imagined to have seated on that lotus. You have to see through your mind's eye His eyes, hands and the reassuring gestures of His hands with a peaceful face. You will gradually understand the inherent meaning in imagining Guru in such a way. During the course of this meditation, the name of the Guru should be chanted as the great spell in another part of the mind. All the images of all deities should be imagined as dwelling in Him and seen. Seeing that form slowly the ablutions at His feet should be offered with pure water. You should imagine that flow of water is falling on your head and flowing through it washing away all the impurities within and without its stream. If you do that all, the impurities will indeed leave you at the very moment and the qualities of Rajas and Tamas will be destroyed. There will be no sin either in your gross or subtle body. You will shine like a pure crystal in all your Sattvik temperament. All of you should meditate every morning as soon as you wake up. .. .. karen93942 wrote: Jai Guru Datta, Win, Will you please again post the beautiful email about the meditation of the lotus upon awakening.
