Jaya Guru Datta,

Here is today's saying:

“Moola Prakriti is also called as Pralaya and Maha Sushupti. To know why these

terms are used, one should understand the scheme of creation.

Creation-Existence-Destruction (Srishti-Sthiti-Laya) follow a cyclic pattern.

We are now in the state of Sthiti (existence). After sometime, all the Jeevis

(beings) undergo Pralaya (destruction). With them, their Karma Vaasanas too

undergo Pralaya. A goldsmith keeps a sheet of paper on the ground while

working. During the course of his work, innumerable gold particles fall all

over this sheet of paper. It is not possible to hold any one particle although

we can see them shining. After finishing his work, the goldsmith rolls a ball

of wax on the paper and all the gold particles stick to it. We do not see the

shining gold particles anymore. When the goldsmith melts this wax ball, the

gold particles collect at the bottom and then it becomes easy to extract the

gold. Similarly, when countless Jeevis become drawn in to the Moola Prakriti,

Pralaya takes place. In this state, neither the Jeevis nor their Karma Vaasanas

are in manifest form. When the time of Srishti comes,

they come out of Moola Prakriti just as gold comes out of molten wax. Now they

show sparks of the Karma Vaasanas, which had, in fact, never left them. Because

it is the cause of Pralaya, Moola Prakriti is also called as Pralaya."
