LESSONS FROM BHAGAVAD GITA – 5 As taught by Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji

“The man of equanimity born of wisdom frees himself in this life, alike from

vice and virtue (merits and demerits of works). Therefore devote yourself to

this yoga. Yoga is skill in works” (Chapter 2, Verse 50).

The results of man’s actions, whether good or bad, bind him only when he is

attached to them. But the Karma Yogi is not affected by good or bad results of

his actions as he has surrendered them completely to God. Thus he releases

himself from the bondage of Karma. Thus an action that would produce bondage,

the Karma Yogi performs in such a way that it would not create a bondage, but

take him towards Godhood. This skill in transforming bondage-creating actions

into bondage-freeing actions is called Yoga.
