Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, Here is today's saying: “What is meant by 'observing' the first 'I'? The assertion--'I' 'I' is there in both the wakeful and the dream states. Whereas in the sushupti (deep sleep) state, such assertion is not there. When did you learn that it isn't there? After you became awake. It means that even the presence or absence of the assertion-- 'I' 'I' is being observed by someone. Who is that someone? Anyone who asks himself, as to who this 'someone' is, will invariably answer-- 'I am'. Thus it implies that there is another 'I' which is different from that which always asserts-- 'I' 'I'. This itself is called 'witness'.
