Here is today's saying:

 

“Puja is a kind of service. And you *feel* for God! It is NOT a photo, NOT an

idol, NOT a stone! It is a kind of soul, you feel that it is a soul, a light,

agni and life. Then you can talk. You are giving life to the image, you are

creating the soul in the idol, you are animating the stonely image. Then you

can talk to it like a good protector, good energy, or good friend. Some people

are talking to Swamiji's photo, crying, fighting. You will get definitely an

answer, the vibrations will reach Swamiji, you go and meditate, Swamiji will

give something. It is no imagination, it is a truth. Sometimes it is

imagination, but to get real answers, you have to sit with a pure heart, with

love and devotion, and with blind belief. Blind belief! Swamiji will 'talk' to

you through the photo.

 

An intellectual attitude is of no use in Puja. If you get this sort of

attitude, then it is not puja, but something quarrel, you won't get blessings.

You kill, surrender your intellect. Don't use strength, use your heart. If you

use ego, arguments, tricks --

it is of no use.

 

Puja is complete begging, nothing else. (Swamiji went down on his hands and

knees, stretching out his hands.)

'What is this mudra? I'm empty, I don't want anything. Please give, please

come near, give protection, please come near, oh my God, please, come, come.'

This action, mudra, says 'I don't know anything, I don't want ego, I'm

surrrendering. I have no body, no mental, no heart, all belong to you, come on,

please help.' It is begging 'Give protection, give knowledge.' Your prayer,

Puja is final offering. 'I don't want anything.' Puja is only self-surrender,

atma-nivedana. And don't test God and don't taste also. Go ahead, follow

master, finish!"
