Guest guest
Swami Sri Manaval Mamunikal’s YATHIRAJA VIMSATI Author: Sri S.Satyamurthi Iyengar Yatiraja vimsati Sloka 12 antarbahissakalavastuShu santamIsham * andhaH purassthitamivAhamavIkshamANaH | kandarpavashyahR^idayattsatataM bhavAmi * hanta tvadagragamanasya yatIndra nArhaH || (12) Sloka 12 Oh, Yateendra! Always sex-ridden, I just can’t comprehend The Lord pervading all things, inside out, Like unto one born blind, unable to apprehend Things right in front, and so, even to appear before you am I unfit. Notes: In the preceding slokas, the poet had confessed to the commission, by him, of an endless chain of sins. Assuming perpetrate sins despite the prying eyes of the Lord, Who is all-pervading and thus a constant witness to all our actions, the answer is being furnished as above, in this sloka. Even as the congenitally blind cannot see things right in front, the poet could hardly perceive the existence of God. Had he but seen the Lord, he might have been weaned away from every thing else but owing to the complete absence of such a vision, he automatically wallows in the sty of sensual pleasures, day in and day out. “How can I, such a sincere, who is unfit to present himself before his Master, ever attain him?” =============================================================== Retyped from the book by Sri Kesavan Srinivasan of Chicago (The Grandson of Sri U.Ve.
