Srimathe Ramanujaya namaha

Sri Vara Vara munaye Namaha

Having obtained the kataksham of Perarulaalan, they then visited the other

divyadesams in and around Kanchi and continued their journey to

Thiruvahendrapuram to have the sevai of Deivanayagan and then proceeded to

Thirukkoviloor to have the darshan of Mudhal Azhwar and Thirukoviloor Edaikazhi

AyanAr. From here they reached the Periya Koil, Srirangam. "rangam aranga

miduprUyAda schuda paraskala nAdEkshu – vishnulOkam avApnOthi sadaya:

pApakshayAn naraha" This divya desam has the greatness of removing even the

minutest of the problems like cough and cold and showing the path to Moksha,

for the persons who set foot on this soil. After having the divya darshan of

Sri Ranganathar, they went to Thirukudanthai to have the sevai of Aravamudan

and finally they reached their hometown Thiruveeranarayanapuram. After having a

warm reception from the local Sri Vaishnavaites, they finally went and stood in

front of Mannanar with their hearts full of love and affection. Mannanar was

overjoyed to see them back. He called the other Sri Vaishnavas and ordered them

to take care of his beloved Nathamunigal and his family. As per the instructions

of Mannanar, the Sri Vaishnavas built a ThirumAligai (House) for them and made

all the arrangements for their food and shelter, so that Sriman Nathamungal and

his family can make their stay permanent in Veeranarayanapuram. Hereafter they

began to spend their time in doing the daily kainkaryams for perumal, like

taking care of thirunandavanam (Garden), making garlands for Mannanar, taking

care of Prasadam (Amudhupadi), Alankaram (Sattupadi), thiruvillakku (lamps)

kainkaryams etc. Other than these nitya kainkaryams, they conducted lots of

vidvat ghosthis and sastrapravarthanams and thereby spent their time in purely

sAtvika matters.

Meanwhile a group of Sri Vaishnavas from Melkote was on a pilgrimage to

Veeranarayanapuram. They came to Mannanar’s sannadhi and recited some pAsurams

from Nammazhvar’s Thiruvaimozhi starting from “ArAvamudE”. On hearing the same,

Nadhamunigal was highly impressed and asked them whether they knew all the

thousand mentioned in the last pAsuram of their recitation. But they replied

they knew only this ten. Then Nadhamunigal enquired whether anybody else in

their place knew those thousand verses of Thiruvaimozhi or at least whether

there is any book, which gives the details of the same. But the reply was

negative. After this, Nadhmunigal gave them the Theertha prasAdam of Manannar

and sent them off. Since in the last paasuram there was a mention about

Thirukkurugoor (Azhwar Thirunagari), birthplace of Swami Nammazhvar, Sriman

Nadhamunigal immediately went to Thirukkurugoor, had darshan of Azhwar and

Polindu nindrapiran and then he met one Sri ParAnkusadbhAsar who was a shisya

of Madurakavi Azhwar and enquired if there was anyone who have learnt the

thiruvaimozhi or if there was any book (srikosham) with him containing the

same. For this ParankusadhAsar replied that he didn’t have the Thiruvaimozhi

and other prabandams and they had been lost for quite some time. But he also

said that, his Acharya Sri Madurakavigal has given him the Divya prabhandam

“Kanninunchiruthambu”, which when recited for 12,000 times, meditating on the

divine feet of alwar, will please the Azhwar very much, and he would appear in

front of Sriman Nadhamunigal to give him the whole of Thiruvaimozhi.

Nadhamunigal politely requested DasAr to teach him the said prabhandam and he

in turn taught him the same with great pleasure. Then Sri Nadhamunigal

meditated the prabhandam for 12,000 times sitting in front of Nammazhvar under

thiruppuliAzhvar (The sacred banyan tree).

“AshtikODharmaseelascha sheelavAn Vaishnava Suchi: Ghambeeras chatrOdeeras

Sishya Ethyapideeyathe”. Azhwar was very happy to find these Vaishnava and

Shisya lakshanas(or qualities) in Sriman Nadhamunigal and so asked the

following with an eternal voice (AsarErE). “Why did you meditate on me like

this?” for which Nadhamunigal replied that he wanted to learn Thiruvaimozhi and

other divya prabandams. Hearing this Azhwar, gave Nadhamunigal the divine

vision, “Divyantadamite sakshuhu:, and as the lord gave to Azhwar “Mayarvara

madinalam”. Azhwar gave Nadhamunigal, not only the Thiruvaimozhi, but also all

the remaining 3000 verses of the Divyaprabhandham, the sampradayic arthaas(inner

meanings) in them and the Asthanga Yoha Rahasyams.

Keeping the verses “Mikka vEdaththin utporul, niRka pAdi en nenjinul

niruththinAn” in his mind, sriman Nadhmunigal, as a token of gratitude, once

again prostrated before Azhwar and Polindhu nindra pirAn. In his dream,

Mannanar expressed his wish to Nadhamunigal that he would like to hear the

recitation of the Nalayira Divya Prabhandham in front of him. The next day

Nadhamunigal expressed this desire of Mannanar, to Azhwar and Polindhu nindra

pirAn. They in turn asked Nadhmunigal to return to VeeranArayana puram and

spread the Divya Prabhandams to the other Sri VaishnavAs who have good Atma

gunas.
