first hand from this noble Ramanuja dasa. These devotees have also securing the

land,

and have found a Tablet from Mamunigal's time which mentions the 1 Yr Discourse

and the tanian as given by the lord.

 

Plans are underway to construct a Ramanuja University on the very same location.

On the 21st and 22nd October 2001, the Tirunakshatra of Sri

Manavalamamunighal, 'Srivaisnavism's most beloved acharya', was celebrated

with pomp in Srirangam. Yet whilst the sacred vigraha of Sri

Manavalamamunighal was enjoying tirumanjanam, and puliyodarai and sweet

pongal were being enjoyed by all, the sacred mortal remains of the saint lay

but 2 km away, gripped by a bog mire saturated with effluence, abandoned and

at elements' whim. His worthy mission too lies neglected.

The exiting 'Thiruvarasu-Need of the Hour' project' seeks to rectify this

neglect by constructing a Thiruvarasu (a shrine built above the mortal

remains of the saint). This will serve as a 'nerve centre ' to inspire a 4

phase development project:

 

Phase 1: Re-construction of a Thiruvarasu, or shrine built on the sight of

the sacred mortal remains of Sri Manavalamamunighal.

 

Phase 2: Re-construction of the adjacent Keshava Perumal Sannidhi, wherein

106 Shaligrams from the terrestrial Divya Desas will be worshiped. A further

uniqueness will be the Archa-vigraha presence of all Alwars & Acharayas.

 

Phase 3: Establishment of the Sri Ramanuja University. It will be a salient

feature of this university to offer fully accredited dual degrees combining

conventional courses with Agama, Divya Prabhandha, Sri Bhashya and other

Sampradaya studies. The university will also house a 'Grantha Naimisaranya',

wherein every published Sampradaya text will be available for reference.

 

Phase 4: Development of a 'Spiritual Kaveri Resort' and 'Planetarium'

An immense project needs huge funds. Every rupee helps. We ask every

well-wisher of the Srivaisnava sampradaya, regardless of age, gender or

income, to donate at least the cost of but one brick (i.e. Rs 2) towards the

aforesaid noble works. Those who find this too irksome a commitment should

think twice (if not bow twice) before uttering the holiest of thaniyans or

applying the distinguished padham (lotus feet).

 

There is no time to waste. A committee headed by H.H. Vanamamalai Kaliyan

Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy, H.H. Tridandi Chinna Srimannarayana Ramanuja Jeeyar

Swamy, Sri Thirukoshtiyur Madhavan, Sri Vaishnava Sri A. Krishnamachariar,

Sri U.Ve. Velukudi Krishnan, Dr M.A. Venkatakrishnan, Dr A.V. Rangachariar, Dr

R. Rangarajan, and

Dr M. Varadarajan, has been established to guide the project. Let us all

co-operate to fulfil Sri Manavalamamunighal's noble mission for mankind.

Manavalamamuni- needed for the welfare of all godly people, the great temple

city of Sri Rangam, Of Nammazhvar's Tamil Vedas and the entire world
