Then Why English? DIKSHIT NIMESH <ndikshit > Mr. Rama Narayanan: ramn_one (AT) adelphia (DOT) net <ramn_one (AT) adelphia (DOT) net> I don't understand one thing, that Why didn't you write your article in Hindi, Tamil or Sanskrit, but in English? As far as you are concerned, English was definitely useful in conveying your message. English has become the Mother Tongue of the World's Corporate House, and it can not be denied and nor Ignored. We Hindus who were one of the richest communities 2500 years back, had the capacity and means to spread Sanskrit in other parts of the world. We failed in modern times especially after British people came to Bharat. Did not heed to the Great Chankya's philosophy and united to rule. Also Great Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo had said everything - whatever they said - in English. Why? Have you asked yourself a question? At the same, time both were biggest proponents of Sanskrit language. Read the hidden meaning of these two Chanakyas on 18th and 19th century, or make the same mistake. You must realize, that had we followed the Chankya, then there would not have been a Mogul or British rule in India. The two languages that make the 50% of the world's languages are the direct result of our laziness and impotencies as Hindu Community. Although, I agree that for Economic Achievements you do not need English as much as a Vital agression. You quoted the nations like China, France, and Germany etc etc. True, they have pride in their language, as we do not have. But why do you have to go out of our Country, doesn't that show that you are also suffering from the same slave mentality of appreciating progress of the other worlds. Gujarat is a State where English is hardly spoken and understood. Even today, the first 10-15 rankers in the 10th and 12th Board exams are from Gujarati medium schools. Still Gujarat contributes 15% of the GDP of India - 3 times more than their per capita strength in Lok Sabha. Quote India and its own people - and try to convey your message through. In your article you are advertising other nations and their languages, do not make that mistake again. Also, all prominent Gujarati business leaders everywhere outside India hardly can speak or communicate in English. But they are doing stupendously great. Saying that, I would like to iterate that while English is not most required for Economic Success, it can be avoided to a great extent. The Divine's WILL is to unite the world, and although through Atrocities and what not, that fortune of uniting the world goes to Britain. Just 50 years back it was said that Sun never sets in British Empire, now we can say that Sun hardly rise in British Empire ( due to a constant cloudy whether in UK. ) So they made, inroads and then had to leave all the parts of the world. God's job was done. What is needed right now is not bashing of English, but educating the people to have the pride in their mother tongue. Now there is a problem of UNITY there too; God does not want anything that does not unite people. So Sanskrit has to be revived in India. It is still Sanskrit and not English that is respected in India. Think of an orator who speaks in English only and the one who occasionally recites things from Vedas in Sanskrit. Who will have the lasting impression? WHY create love for CHRISTIANITY, A FOREIGN RELIGION, amongst Bharatiya people by TEACHING IT THROUGH ENGLISH? Educators and schools have made them Bharatiya people strangers in their own 1and. The students are more prepared to be ministers in England, than teachers to their heathen countrymen. They have lost, due to their English education, all that would give life, point and energy to their discourses, delivered to an idolatrous audience. Schools and teachers have made Bharatiya people as much as possible European; but it is not likely that they have become more acceptable and useful to India." Make Sanskrit easy to learn initially in the School. Simplify the grammar in a fashion so that, it can be easily thought. Encourage children to speak in Sanskrit at least in during the class. Slowly and steadily Sanskrit will unite the states of Bharat in True Sense - and the work will be accomplished. Did the British bring computers and communication technology to Bharat? If a useful advance becomes available, people will adopt it. No civilization evolves in isolation. Rice cultivation seems to have arisen in the Mekong region in Cambodia (not the Fertile Crescent) soon after the end of the last Ice Age. This launched the agricultural revolution, without which there would be no civilization. Bharatiya people adopted it without any colonization or imposition. Unless one is proud of himself / herself, his / her family, friends, community, mother tongue, city, State and Country, he / she cannot be said to be in peace with himself or herself. Such an individual is not being worth recognized in society as an individual who can contribute to the society. We must have self pride and respect our language and culture if we want to contribute to society. Spread and start using Sanskrit and Hindi all around. ----------- For the attention of Media People There are problems with Bharatiya people because of slave and servant mentality that they cannot speak in one language and none of the journalist is capable of speaking in one given language is a matter of shame for 1000 million Indians. What is your national language? You are ashamed of it which is clear from mixed language used by your journalists.I have asked the scholars of languages they tell me that Indian languages are very rich , Hindi and all other languages of India are very rich but Bharatiya people have no pride in their own languages, dress, traditions, heritage, civilization and native religions because of Slavery since 8th century until 15 08 . 1947 and unfortunately they are suffering from poison put in education system by Lord Macaulay in the 19th century which is the root cause of ills and evils in Bharat. All the male journalists look like Brown Englishmen. What is the language certificate for your TV/ Radio Transmission? Use one language otherwise you cannot stand with pride with English, Germans, French, Japanese and Russians.jan rayDo You ?
