Guest guest
If Buddhism&Hinduism are separate than Catholics&Protestants are Separate Religions Buddhism was a form of Protestantism against an over-rigidly practiced Hinduism yet academia considers Buddhism as a completley separate religion. Using this same measurement, Christian global membership is over-inflated. So all these denominations of christainity should also be recognized by academia as distinct and different religions. The same rule should be applied to Islam. However, if this rule was applied to all world religions, Hinduism would be counted as the world's largest religion. Currently Academia considers Sunnis,Shites,Sufis etc as part of one religion, ie. Islam. They count Catholics and the hundreds of different Christian denominations as one religion,ie. Chritians. Using these same rules Hindus,Buddhists,Sikhs and Jains would be considered as one religion,ie Sanatana Dharma. Lo behold, Sanatana Dharma has the highest percentage of adherants.
