Travel to Jaipur & Tungnath/Auli in Garwhal

Ever since the oliday season in India began been waiting for friends to return

so that we could share pictures clicked by them. Travel to Jaipur (65 pictures

by Navin Advani) and Garwhal by Gargi (remember she gave you super Ladakh

pictures in 2004).

 

1. Jaipur City - see Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar observatory, Rambagh

Palace Hotel, Chowki Dani, Laxmi Narayan temple.

2. Amber, Jaigarh forts, Jaipur - great forts, see the inlaid panels &

glass ceiling in Amber & worldfamous Jayvan cannon at Jaigarh.

3. Tungnath Temple is one of the Panchkedars in the Garwhal Himalayas - those of

you in India might know that Uma Bharati went to this Shiv temple whenever she

was very upset with the way BJP treated her or when she wanted to meditate. At

3,680 mtrs it is highest Shivji ka shrine in Garwhal.

4. Auli in summer - is very different from what you see in winter.

5. Badrinath - the link has two sets of pics, one by me and some super pics by

Gargi. She shows you rising sun's rays falling on Neelkanth peak, Mana village

(the last outpost before we reach Tibet, Vyasa gufa, Bhim's rock, Saraswati
