Dear Dharmapada das Prabhu

All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

Pamho

Hare Krsna!

Actually----there is a precedent in the Hare Krsna movement on writing about

the Bible in order to neutralize the envy from orthodox christians. If there is

a compilation based on similar line--then it is in accordance with the wishes of

Srila Prabhupada.

The whole issue is based on--- are WE going to PLEASE Srila Prabhupada by

performing some action--THIS is the test. The approval MUST come from within

the framework of Srila Prabhupada's books-- his authority(LAW BOOKS for

mankind---dogkind do not take instructions from Srila Prabhupada. Some

disgusting dogkinds have rejected Srila Prabhupada's AUTHORIZED Ritvik system

in ISKCON in favour of bogus GBC manufactured gurus--and created hell for

devotees). We can NOT do anything whimsically when we have taken the shelter

of Srila Prabhupada our GLORIOUS BONAFIDE Jagad Guru.

69-07-31. Letter: Hayagriva I shall send you later on the reprint pictures

published in the local newspapers, and you will be glad to learn that about

10,000 people participated in this function. The procession was taken along

about an 8 mile distance, and the people followed all through, simply chanting

the Hare Krishna Mantra. This was a unique scene in this part of the world.

Some of the Christian-minded people became almost envious, and I have received

some anonymous letters. Maybe as our movement increases in volume the orthodox

section of Christianity may be envious of our successful march. I think you

should collect some information from the Bible that Sankirtana, chanting of the

Holy Names of God, is recommended there also. There is a book called Aquarian

Gospel in which it is stated that Lord Jesus Christ lived in the temple of

Jagannatha. Without being His devotee, how could he live there and how the

authorities could allow a non-devotee to live there? From that book it appears

that Lord Jesus Christ lived in intimate relations with the priest order. So as

far as possible, you should prepare yourself for future writings that our

movement is not against the philosophy of Jesus Christ, but it is in complete

collaboration with his line of religiosity. Actually, we don't decry any

religious way of the world, but we are simply advocating that people should

learn to love God by following their religious principles. If one is not

fortunate to be learning how to love God, then his religious principles are

simply fanaticism, without any value. We are presenting the same thing

practically by which one can learn very quickly how to love God, and then his

life becomes sublime. So our process is a system, following which any man from

any religious sect may come and join and learn how to love God.

670201CC.SF Lectures But the Mayavadi sannyasis, they could

not tolerate. They were, I mean to say, backbiting. What they were saying? "Oh,

here is a sannyasi, and He's dancing." According to Mayavada sannyasa, this

dancing and singing is forbidden, forbidden. In Muhammadan religion also,

dancing and singing is forbidden. I do not know what is there in the Bible, but

I understand in the Bible there is sankirtana allowed. I have asked our

Kirtanananda to write some article, "Sankirtana and Bible," because he is, he

knows Bible very well than other members. So we shall see very nice how in

Bible there is sankirtana. The Muhammadan Koran, they do not... In some of

their sections, there is sankirtana, not within the mosque, but without.

Anyway... So similarly, these Mayavadi sannyasis, they also do not like singing

and dancing.

67-04-07. Letter: Kirtanananda And because it is approved by Lord

Christ at least the Christian world will accept our Kirtana procedure. I have

seen in the bible that Lord Jesus Christ recommended this Kirtana performances

in the Bible. You know better than me and I would request you to write a small

book on SANKIRTAN MOVEMENT IN THE BIBLE. I have given a note of direction to

Hayagriva for writing a Drama on Lord Caitanya and if he can deliver us a nice

Drama for staging in your different parts of the State it will be a great

stride for our mission and I hope it will help us financially a great deal.

Just you encourage Hayagriva to write this Drama very nicely in Poetry so that

they can be sung in western tone all over America and Europe and staged

everywhere to cover our expenses.

Dharmapada dasaYou are talking nonsense. Wake up.>"Those instructions by Shrila

Prabhupada were issued a long time ago in acertain >context. Were it not for

this context, we would have no call to gostudying the Bible.Your term "Long

time ago" means you want to try and JUSTIFY it is nolonger applicable NOW Why?

because it suits YOUR mentality. Get real! Thenyou say "in a certain context".

That's just a jugglary of words the contextis JUST AS APPLICABLE NOW as it was

THEN. You are talking---- RUBBISH!* Mahesh,* Why? Because at this time and

place, our purpose is to trace the roots ofthe cultrues of the world to their

Vedic roots. Shrila Prabhupada waswriting to temple devotees who were learning

the philosophy.* This theme of our world Vedic culture wasn't in vogue back

then. Morerecently, P.N. Oaks opened it up with his book on the subject

matter.* It would definitely be a feather in our cap if we could establish

someunderstandings along these lines.* DharmapadSrila Prabhupada did NOT

encourage studying literatures that are not verysound and *transcendental*.

Bible is NOT eternal and is contradictory. Therefore to encourage ANYONE to

spend lifes valuable time on this INSTEADof Srimad Bhagavatam is going against

Srila Prabhupada wishes and this willbe COUNTER PRODUCTIVE.Yasya aprasadan na

gati kuto pi by displeasing the Guru (Srila Prabhupada)he does not attain

transcendental platform. What a tragic waste of humanlife!Adi 17.169 The

Pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu in His Youth The sastras of the yavanas,

or meat-eaters, are not eternal scriptures. They have been fashioned recently,

and sometimes they contradict oneanother. The scriptures of the yavanas are

three: the Old Testament, the NewTestament and the Koran. Their compilation has

a history; they are noteternal like the Vedic knowledge. Therefore although they

have theirarguments and reasonings, they are not very sound and transcendental.

Assuch, modern people advanced in science and philosophy deem these

scripturesunacceptable.Adi 17.169 The Pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu in

His Youth When the scriptures of the yavanas--namely, the Old Testament,

NewTestament and Koran--cannot properly answer inquisitive followers,

naturallythose advanced in scientific knowledge and philosophy lose faith in

suchscriptures.SB 5.6.16 P The Activities of Lord Rsabhadeva The

teachings of Lord Rsabhadeva are for the people of allyugas--Satya-yuga,

Treta-yuga, Dvapara-yuga and especially Kali-yuga. Theseinstructions are so

powerful that even in this age of Kali, one can attainperfection simply by

explaining the instructions, following in the footstepsof the acaryas or

listening to the instructions with great attention. If onedoes so, one can

attain the platform of pure devotional service to LordVasudeva. The pastimes of

the Supreme Personality of Godhead and Hisdevotees are recorded in

Srimad-Bhagavatam so that those who recite thesepastimes and listen to them

will become purified. Nityam bhagavata-sevaya. **As a matter of principle**,

devotees should read, speak and hearSrimad-Bhagavatam persistently,

*twenty-four hours daily if possible.* Thatis the recommendation of Sri

Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Kirtaniyah sada harih.>I encourage Bhakti Anand Goswami to

offer us more explanations so>that we can better understand the world around us

in its connecto to>our world Vedic culture. "NO! We disagree. Listen to Srila

Prabhupada and stop doing nonsense.Best to hear INSTEAD the REAL nectar--- of

Srimad Bhagavatam theTRANSCENDENTAL topics which "If one does so, one can

attain the platform of*pure* devotional service to Lord Vasudeva."Lets refresh

your memory: the quotes stand as they are and are EQUALLYAPPLICABLE TODAY in

their context.70-04-28. Letter: Citsukhananda Regarding the disturbing

groups of "Christians" so-called, that isalright. Let them follow Lord Jesus

Christ. Regarding their dogmaticinsistence, everyone thinks like that, so if

one is not prepared to advancemore, it is better to avoid them. If one is

limited by some formulas only,he is described as an animal which is bound up by

the chain of the masterand cannot move beyond the length of the chain. So we are

concerned withpersons who are not chained by anything.Srila Prabhupada only

preached to these kind of people on the basis ofgiving-up meat eating . So long

as they are merciless they can NOTunderstand the value of Krsna Consciousness

what is soul, what is God.730824BG.LON LecturesPrabhupada:

Pariksit Maharaja. He said that God consciousness, Krsnaconsciousness, cannot

be understood by the animal killer. Vina pasughnat.Nivrtta-tarsair

upagiyamanat. You'll find those who are animal killers, theso-called Christians

and Mohammedans, they cannot understand. They (are)simply fanatics. Cannot

understand what is soul, what is God. They have gotsome theories and they are

thinking we are religionists. What is sin, whatis pious activities, these

things are not understood by them because theyare animal killers. It is not

possible. Therefore Lord Buddha propagatedahimsa. Ahimsa. Because he saw the

whole human race is going to hell by thisanimal killing. "Let me stop them so

that they may, in future, they maybecome sober." Sadaya-hrdaya darsita: Two

sides. First of all he was verymuch compassionate, that poor animals, they are

being killed. And anotherside, he saw "The whole human race is going to hell.

So let me dosomething." Therefore he had to deny the existence of the soul

because their brain will not tolerate suchthings. Therefore he did not say

anything about the soul or God. He saidthat "You stop animal killing." If I

pinch you, you feel pain. So why shouldyou give pain to others? Never mind he

has no soul; that's all right. He didnot talk anything about soul. So these

people say the animals have no soul. But that's all right, but he's feeling pain

when you are killing the animal. So you also feel pain. So why should you give

pain to others? That is LordBuddha's theory. Sadaya-hrdaya darsita-pasu-ghatam.

Nindasi yajna-vidherahaha sruti-jatam. He denied that: "I don't accept Vedas."

Because in theVedas there is sometimes recommendation, not for killing, but for

givingrejuvenation to an animal. But killing, in that sense, is there

forsacrifice. But Lord Buddha did not accept even animal killing in

sacrifice. Therefore, nindasi. Nindasi means he was criticizing. Nindasi

yajna-vidherahaha sruti-jatam sadaya-h rdaya darsita. Why? He was so kind and

compassionate. That is Krsnaconsciousness. God is very kind, very

compassionate. He does not like. Butwhen there is necessity, He can kill. But

His killing and our killing isdifferent. He's all good. Anyone killed by Krsna,

he immediately getssalvation. So these thing are there. ys mahesh[This message
