In the first letter, we informed you about the planning and beginning of ARYA SAMAJ TSUMNAI RELIEF WORK in detail. Now we are sharing the first hand experience of a high level team of Arya Samaj leaders that visited the TSUNAMI affected areas, supervised and co-ordinated the relief work carried on by the people of Arya Samaj youngsters and aged together. T. Muthusamy (I.R.S.) Dy. Commissioner of custom and central excise. He assured the Arya Samaj, of all sorts of possible help. The team was divided into two groups. One group visited Pumpuhar, a small township on way to Naggapattinam where our workers of Arya Veer Dal had already been camping since 30th of December, 2004 and providing help to the affected people. Whereas the other team proceeded to met the senior officials of Tamilnadu Government camping at the District Headquarters of Nagapattinam. We met Dr. Raja Ram (I.A.S.) Director of Dist. These officers provided their valuable suggestions and assured all help. The Arya Samaj team visited a small village Samundan Pettei behind the Dist. headquarters of Naggapattinam. We met the people and saw the eradicated houses in this village. Immediately our team took a decision to adopt this village. We proposed our plans in writing to the, District Rural Development Agency who agreed in principle. Later on, a permission in writing was accorded by the government. Arya Samaj relief group has started constructing the shelter houses for the affected families.Construction work for 120 houses at Samandan Pettei has been started after performing Yajna on 8th Jan, 2004. Confidence of the people in Arya Samaj could be visible, when some well off Tamilians also offered their contribution for the ARYA SAMAJ TSUMNAI RELIEF WORK.Our volunteers not only provided relief materials, but in the spare time they are playing with the children as well. Some of the Tamil speaking Aryas like Shri N.
