Guest guest
Namaskar Mitra, 1. Travel to Gangotri and Gaumukh Glacier - http://www.esamskriti.com/html/new_photo.asp?subcatid=139 Gangotri is situated at the confluence of the rivers, Kedar Ganga & Bhagirathi Ganga. Gangotri is the place where Goddess Ganga is believed to have descended on earth as a reward for King Bhagirathi's severe penance. The source of the river is at Gaumukh, 18kms south east of Gangotri along the Gangotri glacier. The Gangotri Temple is 20 feet high made of white granite. It was built in the early 18th century by a Gorkha commander and later renovated in the 20th century. The trek from Gangotri to Gaumukh is super. Beyond that you can go to Tapovan (is heaven on earth). For this bit you must have a local guide. Picture courtesy is Gargi M - gargimas (AT) vsnl (DOT) com 2.
