Guest guest
ANTI-HINDU LEADER URGES STATE GOVT TO TAKE OVER SHANKARACHARYA MATH TN Govt should take steps to save Kanchi mutt: DMK chief Press Trust of India Chennai, November 13 Continuing his tirade against Kachi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi, DMK President M Karunanidhi said on Saturday Tamil Nadu government should take steps to prevent a "great institution" like the Kanchi Mutt from "perishing due to the acts of a few." Writing in his party's mouthpiece Murasoli, he said government should take action to save the great institution founded by Adi Sankara so that it functions to benefit the poor in future. Likening the Mutt to a ship, he said, "If the captain of the ship is not perfect, the ship should not be allowed to sink. We have to search for a new captain and repair the ship according to modern needs." Claiming that he had great respect for the heads of the Kanchi Mutt till the late Sri Chandarasekerendra Swami, he said they never behaved in a way that would have degraded it. "But now, we do not find the qualities of spirituality or tranquility found in Late Chandarasekerendra Saraswathi in Jayendra Saraswathi, the present head of the Mutt. A saint is one, who has conquered such emotions as anger. Jayendra in a fit of anger, disappeared from the Mutt in 1987. The then president R Venkataraman had to interfere in the matter," Karunanidhi said. "Due to his acts, the Sankara mutt, which had an unblemished record in the past, has been degraded. The government should take action to save the great institution founded by Adi Sankara," Karunanidhi said. http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1103330,000900020001.htm -- In HinduThought, Srinivasan Kalyanaraman <kalyan97@g...> wrote: Now an attempt is ongoing for government take-over of Kanchi Mutt. It is like asking convicted, unreformed criminals to administer the system of jurisprudence in the country replacing all 'learned' functionaries of law. A fast-food recipe for destroying the age-old democratic traditions of the nation exemplified by Uttaramerur inscription of the 9th century. This is not to be categorised as a 'state subject' or a 'central subject'. This is a subject which attacks the very core of hindu tradition and hence, a national subject. I am not on the subjet of Law Commissions and reforms of the criminal justice system. http://www.lawcommissionofindia.nic.in/main.htm I question the competence of the criminalised political system to regulate or control hindu institutions. Hindu don't need a hindu-hater like Karunanidhi to suggest how hindu should run their institutions or how a mathadhipati is selected. I am referring the destruction of hindu institutions by interference from the British colonial regime exemplified by Macaulay's zero knowledge of and contempt for Bharatiya ni_ti, ethos and traditions. The damage caused by Macaulay continues to be perpetrated by the present-day criminalised political system of governance. All that we have are only trappings of bureaucracies of several hues and shades, starting with judicial bureaucracies, criminal gang-ups, political-looters. What is being proposed is one more way to loot the nation is to take over hindu institutions such as the devasthanam or mutt. All this under the rubric of criminal justice system of Bharata; a system which is being run by a criminalised polity. Kalyanaraman
