Guest guest
AN EXCERPT FROM THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE ARTICLE ENTITLED Bush vs. Kerry has global attention ....For many Hindus in India, Bush is a breath of fresh air, a U.S. president who appears to side with India in the long-running Kashmir dispute. For the same reason, India's Muslim minority, which numbers 120 million, tends to support Kerry, who is seen as having a more nuanced vision on Iraq, Palestine and Kashmir. Africa Perhaps more than any other part of the world, Africa remains torn over the candidates. Nobel laureate Nelson Mandela rebuked Bush for invading Iraq, but in many ways Bush has been a good friend to the continent. He visited Africa in 2003, becoming only the third U.S. leader to travel there while in office. His administration has strongly backed the African Growth and Opportunities Act, started under the Clinton administration to help create jobs in Africa by giving the continent preferential access to some U.S. markets. And the Bush administration has taken the continent's AIDS crisis seriously, offering broad new funding for prevention and treatment programs. http://student-voices.org/news/index.php3?NewsID=14912
