Guest guest Posted October 11, 2004 Report Share Posted October 11, 2004 Comrades, Drunk with Power break Ganesh Murthi in Tirppur Tiruppur, the Industrial and textile hub of world renown, falling within the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency, has been witnessing the clout of communists gradually dying down, on account of the steadily increasing influence of Hindu resurgence all around. Anyhow, in the Lok Sabha elections of May 2004, Shri. Subbarayan of CPI managed to win the Coimbatore constituency thanks to the DMK alliance arithmetic. >From then on, the comrades in Tiruppur have been frantically attempting to browbeat opponents to regain an upper hand. Their atrocious act of breaking the Ganesh diety installed in public in Tiruppur on September 20, 2004 is the latest example. Alert Hindu women who were nearby to fill their water pots, noted down the registration number of the two wheeler in which the miscreants came and informed the Police, who found out that the hooligans were Subbarayan's men. They were promptly rounded up. When the word spread that communists have broken the diety of Ganesh, enraged Hindus pelted stones at the local CPI office.
