It was nice to meet some of the people. I was hoping to see you too. I think we met once long time ago and have exchanged emails a couple times.I think one important thing that the VFA can do is to make the ordinary people here in our country (USA) understand that it is Islam that is a danger to almost every other religion not the Hindus. Prof. Samuel Huntington in his now well known book, "The clash of Civilizations" refers to the fact that every one finds it easier to live with each other than with Islam. As you are well aware Hindus want to simply live and let live. However, we think that if Bhagavaan gave us birth in a Hindu family there must be a reason. To disturb people's faith is the greatest violence and culminates in pain and tragedy for the perpetrators of such actions. We see this in the unhappiness of our people here even in the presence of great affluence. Destruction is upon us too. So are we going to target the wrong enemy and loose two good countries ? On the News I see praise for Musharaf and Pakistan. In reality the two most dangerous Nations on earth at the moment are Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Some how both the US Media and the Christian groups continue to target the Hindu Tradition the most. This fact apart from being painful to a Indo American Hindu like me, continues to harm my adopted country the USA in various ways. My children and grand children live here and I feel very strongly that for us to construct a more Dharmik society here, we need to stop this Hindu phobia. In my extensive talks and teaching classes I have not found the general public hostile in any way -it is a purely "Leadership" formula, where the ordinary citizen gets to sacrifice and the leadership sets us against each other.I very much hope that VFA will first and foremost attempt to change the perception of Hindu Dharma here in the USA-then we will be able to bring change with in Hindustan too.Warm regards,Renu- vedicinst (AT) aol (DOT) com To: VFA-members Friday, October 01, 2004 5:04 PMRe: [VFA-members] Hindu religion not mentioned in any talks or speeches Curiously the Hindu religion is mentioned much more prominently than any other non-Biblical faith by the Christian fundamentalists in America. But that is targeting it for conversion purposes.Vamadeva Sponsor Groups Linksa.. To visit your group on the web, go to:VFA-members/b.. To from this group, send an email to:VFA-membersc..
