Guest guest Posted September 19, 2004 Report Share Posted September 19, 2004 AUM Golden Jubilee Celebrations Arya Samaj Gandhidham 18th September 2004 ____________________________ Mundan and Yagyopavit (Sacred Thread) ceremony of 50 children of Jeevan Prabhat The highlight of the day 3 of the Golden Jubilee celebrations was the Mundan and Yagyopavit (Sacred Thread) ceremony of 50 children of Jeevan Prabhat children. These ceremonies were performed with the chanting of Veda Mantras by Acharya Suryadevi Shastri Principal Paninikanya Gurukul Varanasi and her Brahmcharinis. The atmosphere was religious and the small kids were very happy that they were now entering a new phase in the life. Acharya Suryadevi Shastri explained the significance of these ceremonies and made the children promise her that they will always speak the truth, read only good books and lend a helping hand in social work. All those present gave the children school books and stationary. Grand Procession Taken Out Then in the evening a grand procession was taken out throughout the city of Gandhidham under the leadership of Shri Ajay Sehgal and the other dignitaries present were the General Scretary of International Aryan League Shri Vimal Wadhavanji, Shri Girish Khosla CEO Arya Pratinidhi Sabha America, Swamy Satyam Acting President International Aryan League, Secretary Mumbai Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Shri Arun Abrol, Shri Kalyandev Arya President Gujarat Prantiya Arya Pratinidhi Sabha and all the delegates who are attending the celebrations, the people of Gandhidham and all the Arya Samaj members took part in this procession. In all there were about 1500 persons. There were five camel carts in one live Havan was performed, the saints sat in another, there was a big Photo of Rishi Dayanand displayed in one and in two there were people who were singing bhajans. The camel carts were beautifully decorated. One person led the procession sitting on a horse and carrying the OOM Flag.
