The Sri Sri Center for Media Studies in Bangalore, a school of

journalism with a difference (I am the present Dean) is looking for

donors to sponsor deserving students who would in turn become

responsible Indian journalists and not India haters. We are offering a

50% scholarship to those students who have a spiritual bend of mind,

that is they have to pay 50.000 Rs instead of 1 lakh for the full year

course starting on 27th September next. So if you are looking to

sponsor one student, it comes to 50.000 Rs (appr 1000 $), two students

one lakh, etc. Donations in rupees or $ are tax free, as they come to

the Art of Living Foundation (Vyakti Vikas kendra India) and we will

keep you informed of the progresses of the particular student (s) you

are sponsoring. If you could pass the word around. .

 

We are also inviting postgraduate students to join the course and

avail of the scholarship. Classes in video, film editing, still

photography, web journalism, writing skills, economics, journalist

ethics, Indian history and the AOL basic course are provided, along

with assignments and an internship with a Bangalore newspaper. We

guarantee a job in a TV channel or mainstream newspaper at the end of

the course if the student has been diligent.

 

NRI's students are welcome, as they can go back to their country of

adoption, after the course, get hired by a newspaper, slowly rise

through the ranks and get a priority to being posted as correspondents

in India if they speak Hindi. We will thus slowly get a less negative

foreign coverage of India. We already have one of our students in

place at the Los Angeles Times.
