Guest guest
ARYA SAMAJ GANDHIDHAM Monthly Report of Activities May - 2004 ROUTINE ACTIVITIES: All the routine activities like daily Havan, weekly Satsang, Medical oxygen bank, library, daily yoga classes, etc were carried out. YOG-MEDITATION CAMP: Today’s modern day life is full of stress & tension. The fast pace of the life leaves little room for refreshing the Mind & Body. Yog & Meditation help us greatly in facing these problems and refresh the mind & body. While Meditation recharges the brain Yog helps us in keeping our body fit for the fast pace of the modern life. Keeping the above in mind we organize Yog-Meditation camps every year in January and from this year onwards we have started organizing a summer special camp as well. About 150 persons attended this camp. Yog-Meditation and Yogic medical treatment and advices were given to the attendees. This camp was conducted by Dr. Ishwar Bhardwajji (Head of the Department - Yogic Sciences – Gurukul Kangri University Haridwar). Dr. Ishwar Bhardwajji has done his Doctorate in Yog and is one of the senior most Yog exponents in India. Childrens Personality Development Camps for the city children: During the summer vacations the children are free and as they have nothing constructive to do or no way of spending their time they end dissipating their time in vain. The fourth and last camp in a series of four camps was organized and successfully conducted from the 27th May to 2nd June. There were 75 students in the batch and there was so much rush for the seats that we had to disappoint many students. The camp timing was 9am to 7pm and the children did not mind these long hours as they were taught many interesting and useful things. They were given discourses on wide range of subjects like Maintaining Health during different seasons, Vedic mathematics, Road safety, Public speaking, Memory improvement, Yoga, Meditation, Karate, etc., Dr. Harani gave a slide show presentation showing the ill effects of Tobacco consumption. The firefighting staff of Kandla Port Trust gave knowledge of firefighting and also gave an amazing live display of firefighting. The officers of the Indian Army gave a slide presentation to the children regarding the Army Life and also told the children how they can join the army. Every day there used to be a recap session where the children were given prizes according to their performance. The prize for the best cadet was given to Sushrut Arya and Miss. Dhwani Bhatt. Proffessor Swtantra Kumar Vice-Chancellor Gurukul Kangri University Haridwar had come specially to attend the closing ceremony of both the camps. Shri. Subachanram Joint commissioner of Income Tax and Shri Shrinivasan Joint General Manager of IFFCO were the chief guests of the ceremony. All the dignitaries asked the children to implement what they have learnt in the camp in their lives. The children also spoke about their experiences of the camp and have requested Arya Samaj Gandhidham to organize such camps on regular basis. This camp was conducted by Dr. Ishwar Bhardwajji (Head of the Department - Yogic Sciences – Gurukul Kangri University Haridwar). Visit: The famous Saint Sadramji (Gudadi Baba) the successor of Sant Kanvaram from Pakistan came and blessed the children. He said that these are the children of God and we are just the instruments who have been given the task of rearing these children by the Almighty. He asked the children to study well and become good moral children of God. He has made a substantial contribution for the construction of the "Jeevan Prabhat" complex and has appealed to his followers to donate generously for these children. The children were invited by the Ex-Member Of Parliament Shri Vasanbhai Ahir to his farm house in Ratnal for a Picnic. The children enjoyed this outing very much. JEEVAN PRABHAT-CHILDREN: The results of the annual exams have been announced and most the children have passed with good marks and some of them have even stood First in their class. Some of them were made to take part in the children’s personality development camp so that they can interact with the other city children and learn something new from them. The children celebrated one year of their going to Delhi and meeting VVIPs of India on the 5th of this month. They recollected their experiences. The children are cared for and reared without any distinction of caste & creed and totally free of cost. JEEVAN PRABHAT-PROGRESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPLEX: The IDRF-Boys’ wing has been completed and the Girls’ wing being funded from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund is also complete. The finishing work of the dinning wing and of the work station wing is in progress. The foundation work of the Central Administrative block has also been started. As you are all aware the new academic year begins from this June and for us at "Jeevan Prabhat" it is the most expensive month as new school uniforms, school shoes, books etc have to be purchased and also the school fees are to be paid for all the 121 children who are under our care. This expense comes to approximately Rs. 1000/- per child. This expense does not include the yearly school fees which come to approximately Rs. 3600/- per year. We appeal to you all noble persons to contribute this paltry sum of Rs. 1000/- + Rs. 3600/- = Rs. 4600/- (USD 100) and help us in educating these children. You are free to contribute for the education of one child or in multiples. You can send your contributions to; Arya Samaj, DBZ-N-157, Near Zanda Chowk, Mahrishi Dayanand Marg, Gandhidham-Kutch, Gujarat-India. Pin: 370 201. Please draw Cheque/DD in favour of “Arya Samaj Gandhidham Charitable Trust” We humbly appeal to all you noble persons to contribute for the education of these children who have been punished by God for no fault of theirs.
