Guest guest
Jai Ramji Ki! Dear Friend: I know that breaking the vow of celibacy by a sannyasi is frowned upon. But it does not lead to automatic excommunication. I read about a famous situation in Vrindavana during Ramdas Kathia Baba's tenure as the chief Mahanta. Kathiababa did not excommunicate the monk who had the romantic encounter, but helped him get back to his celibate life. Kathiababa was a great champion of the Shastras, therefore, it is extremely unlikely that Shastras recommend excommunication. I know that the Ramakrishna Mission has a rule about this. Regards, Dhruba. > specific statement in its sastras, that a sannyasi who has fallen > into sense gratification (nor sex, but romantic contac with a women) and then recitified his position, should formally give up the sannyasa ashrama? Or if him (sannyasi) can be reinstalled in his sannyasi order? Could you send me some references on this respect? > Prfr. Horacio F. Arganis J. > IEFAC and U A de C.
