God’s Gift to Mankind

 

INTELLECT

 

God has gifted only human beings with best intellect,

To distinguish between good and bad, fair and unfair and to act.

All other creatures are deprived of this is also a fact,

Souls rewarded with a human body are therefore the best.

 

Good humans acquire knowledge using their intellect,

They act wise and proper always following the right track.

Take care of health with regular exercise and proper diet,

Are always happy and make others so, who come in their contact.

 

A person cutting branch of the tree where he is resting,

Not using his intellect does not see consequences of his acting.

Learned, pity him for not using his common sense and intellect,

But natural law will not excuse his unworthy and foolish act.

 

Imagine a learned person addicted to alcohol and smoking,

Ignores health risks diminishing intellect and its wasting.

Enjoyment of a moment leaves permanent damaging effect,

With serious problems of lung cancer, hypertension and cardiac arrest.

 

May God, always guide our intellect to act in the right direction,

And bless us with courage to throw away any kind of evil temptation.

May we enjoy God gifted human life in a decent and sober way,

Let us ourselves be good, and make the world noble as the scriptures say.
