Guest guest
A Guru once told me that Noah's language was Mlechchha or Mlesssa (today used as a derogatory term in Eastern Bengal, where also interesting to note, are huge floods, often submerging the whole country). I was astonished when I learned that the name given to ancient Indus civilization by the Sumerians is Meluhha. I find the names to be uncannily similar. The boat constructed by Noah with a house in the middle is very much reminiscent of the Indus Valley boats. (See picture above.) The Indus boats had a house in the middle. Even today the boats of India follow the Indus pattern. The Indus valley people were the first seafarers and they hugged the coasts as they traveled. When they wanted to find out the direction of land, they would release crows. The birds would fly towards the coast and show the direction. Noah uses a dove but he also used a RAVEN to find land. Also I want to note something that I came across in An Outline of the History of Kashmir. Here I learned that Sir Charles Elliot writes in a book called 'Hinduism and Buddhism': "...After the death of Ashoka, his son Jaluka ascended the throne of Kashmir, and the latter was succeeded by his son King Damodar II. Jaluka was a great king who cleared the valley of oppressing 'Malechas', (foreign unclean tribes). Another very intriguing think is that in the Mahabharat, the coastal tribes of Bengal are called Mlechchha. The people of Bengal and Kalinga (south east India) were considered non-Aryan. The people of Bengal are also called maritime people just like the Meluhhans. The Milinda-panho mentions Vanga (Bengal) as a maritime country where trading ships came from various parts of the world. And one of the first wars between the Aryans and the Bengals is recorded and from here comes an interesting revealation. In Bhishma-parvan the Bengali kings heroically face attacks from the Pandus or conquerors of Upper India. In the text it is said that while some of the Bengal kings fought on elephants, others rode on ocean-bred steeds of the hue of the moon. These were possibly ships. (More on Ancient Bangla?) Who were these Malechas and Mlechchhas? Do they have anything to do with Mlechchha or Mlesssa or Meluhha? http://www.geocities.com/raqta24/ind4.htm Indiatimes Email now powered by APIC Advantage.
