The name Sunderbans is derived from the mangrove specie namely Sundari & Ban meaning forest. Thus name means mangrove forest. Picture one is a Salt Water crocodile also called the Estuarine crocodile. It is the largest specie of crocodile in the world and known to attack humans. The entire Sunderban area has unique delta forests spread over 2,606 kms & is the largest estuarine mangrove forest in the world.
