Dear Friends:

 

I see four factors for the defeat of the NDA government

 

1. Hindu-Muslim riots hurt the pride of common Indians.

2. The shrill personality of some leaders of BJP and its coalition

partners. The biggest examples are: Praveen Togadia, Mamata Banerjee

and Jayalalita Jayaraman.

3. Congress party was able to convince people that BJP did not care

for the poor. They promised the farmers free water and free

electricity. YS Reddy is actually planning to sign this for the AP

farmers on the day he takes oath.

4. Newspapers and TV stations said that NDA will win. This created a

sense of complacence among voters and did not go to vote.

 

Pardon my cynicism, now we will have a prime minister who, as a first

act of kindness, might just allow that Italian middleman Quottrecci

to go scot free.
