baisakhi + meaning of khalsa.

Baisakhi in Punjab, Boishakh in Bengal, Tamil New Year all on 13th April .

 

"At a congregation held at Anandpur on New Year Day of 1st Baisakh, 1756 Vikrama

Samvat or 30th March 1699 Guru Govind Singhji created Khalsa Panth. In Punjab

Baisakhi signifies the begining of the harvest season and is thus celebrated.

In Bengal it is called Boishakh, the Tamil New Year is on the same day too.

 

Each of the five letters in the Persian word Khalsa have a significance. kh & a

stand for Khud or oneself & the Akal Purkh (God). L signifies Labbaik, meaning

the following questions of God, "What do you want with me? Here am I. What

would you have?, and the reply of the Singh (devotee): 'Lord give us liberty &

sovereignty. The fourth word S signifies Sahib (Lord or Master) . The last

letter is written either as A or, more usually, H. The former signifies Azadi

or freedom and the latter refers to Huma, a legendary bird. "

Guru Gobind Singhji created Khalsa on 31.3.1699 since Baisakhi in that year was

on 31 march, why is Baisakhi then celebrated mostly in April now. Can some

enlighten me.
