Guest guest Posted April 3, 2004 Report Share Posted April 3, 2004 ARYA SAMAJ GANDHIDHAM Monthly Report of Activities March - 2004 ROUTINE ACTIVITIES: All the routine activities like daily Havan, weekly Satsang, Medical oxygen bank, library, etc were carried out. Golden Jubilee Celebrations: This year Arya Samaj Gandhidham completed its 50 years on 18/03/2004 and the children of "Jeevan Prabhat" celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Arya Samaj Gandhidham by planting 121 trees at “Rishi Udyan. The children have adopted the slogan “Grow More Trees” in accordance with the Hon’ble President Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s advice to the children of India, that they should at least plant and maintain TEN trees in their lifetime so that India becomes green. The tree plantation was done with the help of the members of the Indian Army stationed at Gandhidham. Colonel Ashok Upadhyaya and his team had made all the preparations for the plantation ceremony. At the start of the ceremony Shri Vachonidhi Arya (Hon.Gen.Secretary) gave a brief account of the history of Arya Samaj Gandhidham in the past fifty years. Shmt. Rupa Bhati the designer of "Rishi Udyan" explained to the gathering about this project and the way "Rishi Udyan" would be different from the general gardens. Two of the surviving founders of Arya Samaj Gandhidham Shri Valjibhai.Ravjibhai.Patel Past President (the father of our present President Shri Purshottam Patel) and Shri Bhikhubhai Gohil were commemorated on this occasion. Shri Valjibhai.Ravjibhai.Patel said that in the past people never gave Rs. 1.25 for any good cause and they had to struggle very hard for funds but now people have become very generous and are even donating Rs. 1.25 Lacs for the good causes taken up by Arya Samaj Gandhidham. Shri Bhikhubhai Gohil also said that he was very pleased with the progress Arya Samaj Gandhidham has made under the leadership of this young team since 1986. In the end Colonel Ashok Upadhyaya of the Indian Army praised the work of Arya Samaj Gandhidham and said that he along with his team members would Donate New clothes for the children. Visit: The owners of Green Palace a 100% vegetarian Multi Cuisine A grade restaurant of Gandhidham invited the children for dinner at their restaurant on 6/03/2004 on Holi Day. The children enjoyed their visit and the dinner very much. On 7/03/2004 the children celebrated Holi the festival of colours with great enthusiasm. They put colour on each other and also on any person entering the premises for the full morning. They got so coloured up that even we could not recognize them. The rest of the day was spent on cleaning and bathing. Dr. Satyapal Singh the Joint Commissioner of Police Crime Mumbai recently visited Kutch and he took time off from his busy schedule and came all the way to Gandhidham to meet the children of "Jeevan Prabhat". He said that the children are being reared in the right manner in the Vedic Gurukul style and was sure that this was the way due to which the children would become true patriots. He has promised all the possible help in the rearing of the children. Yoga Classes: We have appointed a Yoga Teacher for the children. He has a Masters degree in yoga. As Arya Samaj is always in the fore front in social work we have started Yoga Classes for the benefit of the people of Gandhidham. At present we are running four batches in a day. Many organizations have also contacted us for organizing classes at their campus for the benefit of their employees. We are also organizing “Bal Sanskar Shivir” (Children’s Camp) in May for the benefit of the children of Gandhidham. The details are being worked out and we will inform you as soon as they are finalized. JEEVAN PRABHAT-CHILDREN: After the Tankara visit the children are now busy preparing for their annual exams. The children were taken to see the film AGNIPANKH as it is a patriotic film and it inculcates these virtues in the children. The children are cared for and reared without any distinction of caste & creed and totally free of cost. After the appointment of a Nurse and the Yoga teacher the health of the children has improved a lot and now they have also become physic and cleanliness conscious. JEEVAN PRABHAT-PROGRESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPLEX: The IDRF-Boys’ wing has been completed and the Girls’ wing being funded from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund is also complete. The finishing work of the dinning wing and of the work station wing is in progress. The foundation work of the Central Administrative block has also been started. We humbly appeal to all you noble persons to contribute for the rearing of these children who have been punished by God for no fault of theirs.
