years on 18/03/2004 and the children of "Jeevan Prabhat" celebrated the Golden

Jubilee of Arya Samaj Gandhidham by planting 121 trees at “Rishi Udyan. The

children have adopted the slogan “Grow More Trees” in accordance with the

Hon’ble President Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s advice to the children of India, that

they should at least plant and maintain TEN trees in their lifetime so that

India becomes green.

The tree plantation was done with the help of the members of the Indian Army

stationed at Gandhidham. Colonel Ashok Upadhyaya and his team had made all the

preparations for the plantation ceremony.

At the start of the ceremony Shri Vachonidhi Arya (Hon.Gen.Secretary) gave a

brief account of the history of Arya Samaj Gandhidham in the past fifty years.

Shmt. Rupa Bhati the designer of "Rishi Udyan" explained to the gathering about

this project and the way "Rishi Udyan" would be different from the general

gardens.

Valjibhai.Ravjibhai.Patel Past President (the father of our present President

Shri Purshottam Patel) and Shri Bhikhubhai Gohil were commemorated on this

occasion. Shri Valjibhai.Ravjibhai.Patel said that in the past people never

gave Rs. 1.25 for any good cause and they had to struggle very hard for funds

but now people have become very generous and are even donating Rs. 1.25 Lacs

for the good causes taken up by Arya Samaj Gandhidham. Shri Bhikhubhai Gohil

also said that he was very pleased with the progress Arya Samaj Gandhidham has

made under the leadership of this young team since 1986. In the end Colonel

Ashok Upadhyaya of the Indian Army praised the work of Arya Samaj Gandhidham

and said that he along with his team members would Donate New clothes for the

children.

restaurant of Gandhidham invited the children for dinner at their restaurant on

6/03/2004 on Holi Day. The children enjoyed their visit and the dinner very

much.

On 7/03/2004 the children celebrated Holi the festival of colours with great

enthusiasm. They put colour on each other and also on any person entering the

premises for the full morning. They got so coloured up that even we could not

recognize them. The rest of the day was spent on cleaning and bathing.

Dr. Satyapal Singh the Joint Commissioner of Police Crime Mumbai recently

visited Kutch and he took time off from his busy schedule and came all the way

to Gandhidham to meet the children of "Jeevan Prabhat". He said that the

children are being reared in the right manner in the Vedic Gurukul style and

was sure that this was the way due to which the children would become true

patriots. He has promised all the possible help in the rearing of the children.

Yoga Classes: We have appointed a Yoga Teacher for the children. He has a

Masters degree in yoga. As Arya Samaj is always in the fore front in social

work we have started Yoga Classes for the benefit of the people of Gandhidham.

At present we are running four batches in a day. Many organizations have also

contacted us for organizing classes at their campus for the benefit of their

employees.

We are also organizing “Bal Sanskar Shivir” (Children’s Camp) in May for the

benefit of the children of Gandhidham. The details are being worked out and we

will inform you as soon as they are finalized.

JEEVAN PRABHAT-CHILDREN: After the Tankara visit the children are now busy

preparing for their annual exams. The children were taken to see the film

AGNIPANKH as it is a patriotic film and it inculcates these virtues in the

children. The children are cared for and reared without any distinction of

caste & creed and totally free of cost.

After the appointment of a Nurse and the Yoga teacher the health of the children

has improved a lot and now they have also become physic and cleanliness

conscious.

JEEVAN PRABHAT-PROGRESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMPLEX: The IDRF-Boys’ wing

has been completed and the Girls’ wing being funded from the Prime Minister’s

National Relief Fund is also complete. The finishing work of the dinning wing

and of the work station wing is in progress. The foundation work of the Central

Administrative block has also been started.

We humbly appeal to all you noble persons to contribute for the rearing of these

children who have been punished by God for no fault of theirs.
