Namaskar Mitra,

An email mitra Laura helped with significance of festival & motivated me to

share. Akin to Kumbh Mela in North India, Mahamagam is religiously famous in

South India. This takes place once in twelve years, in Kumbakonam in Tanjore

District, an old town with innumerable famous temples, in the Tamil month of

Masi on Full Moon Day when the star is Magam on that day. This year, it falls

on March 6.
