Guest guest
Science and Technology and Sanskrit ***************** February 4, 2004 Global Press Conference MAHARISHI: ...the whole of the Vedic knowledge is available to everyone in one syllable: "A". "A" is a syllable. It is called "svara". "Svara" means: "ra" - reverberation - of "sva" - Atma. Atma reverberates in the reverberation, in the sound of "A". One very special thing I would like to tell you - I have been saying all this - but this is the time to again repeat it: "A" is a Vedic svara. Svara we say, the consciousness, Atma Chetana, the consciousness of the Self, consciousness of Atma. The whole Vedic Literature, the whole Vedic Language, all expressions: they have "A" in it. This is the speciality about the perfection of Vedic word. If you speak Sanskrit, if you speak Vedic Language, you have to say "A" in each syllable, in each alphabet. Whether we say "ka", "kha", "ga", "gha" - anything you say, "A" is there. And when "A" is there, wholeness of knowledge is there in a lively flow. Wholeness of knowledge. And wherever there is wholeness of knowledge flowing, there is the entirety of the power of action flowing with it. So both things now we say, knowledge and action. Vedic Science is a science and technology at the same time. Not science separate, not technology separate. No. You begin to speak Sanskrit, and you will be enlivening your Atma. One thing very interesting: Anyone who says anything in Sanskrit, what he is doing? He is enlivening consciousness, self-referral consciousness. He's enlivening Atma. When you have these concerts, Gandharva-Ved concerts, then what you are doing? Someone who says "A", various types of they call it ... (unclear Sanskrit/Gandharva word): up and down and up and down and up and down. As you say it, what you are creating? You are creating in your own consciousness, in your own intelligence, in your own awareness - you are creating thrills of totality, thrills of Atma. And those who are listening to it, to you, their Atma is being thrilled. It's a very great science of language. It's very necessary that when we are now aged and old and now retired age and all that - our time is over - but we would like our children to be thriving in the infinite creativity of the Atma, of the Self - infinite creativity of the Self. Start to speak Sanskrit. Teach Sanskrit to the children. I would not speak anything about other languages, but if you want to enliven infinite creative intelligence from whatever you speak, from whatever you do, then you take care of your language. Sanskrit is the language whereby you can enliven your creativity, you can enliven positivity...
